I like them, although others hate them :?
I hope the synth doesn't overheat because the entire surface seems pretty much sealed off.

What are those speakers in the video, I am looking for something like that to replace my crappy Creative speakers...
As stated above, these are cap-sense not membrane keys.

The speakers are our iLoud Micro Monitors in white. They were just released in white recently.
Cool, never heard of those speakers, but judging from a quick search they got very good reviews :tu:
(The only thing that seems a bit odd is the volume control on the back panel. Such an important control should be more readily accessible.)

I think I got such capacity sensitive buttons on my washing machine. I never really know if an action of mine was registered because there is no click or any such mechanical feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. Any particular features that really made it stand out for you (if you had been looking for this sort of thing, as you said)? If you don't mind, I'd love to pass along what people see to appreciate feature-wise so we can keep improving there.

[Edited to remove the question mark at the end of the first sentence. Wasn't meant to be a question :) ]

Huh? What "hate" are you talking about? People are discussing the synth critically and also commenting on the promotional materials. I agree about that video, if it's the one that can't stop saying true analog, it's cringeworthy. Whatever, I expect cringeworthy from IK promo mateirals, that's what they do best.

With respect to the synth though, the only "hate" that I'm seeing in this thread are the few, mostly buyers, who are experiencing some butthurt that others have the audacity to question the value of the synth. I think that most of us have a balanced perspective on this synth and would like the gushers to gush in the privacy of their own bedrooms so that we can talk about the details of the synth without having to avert our eyes.

its not something im looking for at the minute, but there where some nice sounds in that video.
if i was in a store and they had one to demo i could see it getting the better of me at that price.

nice work.

Thanks for the feedback. Though I didn't think anybody or anything could get the better of vurt! :P

Really - you see more people gushing the criticizing the synth? I certainly don’t see that. I don’t see anybody gushing other than saying that it’s a lot of synth for the price, and excited about the sequencer.

That's bollox... I certainly don't hate IK. I certainly own enough of their plugins.

Fact is... IK come out with a well OTT 'paradigm shift' announcement. It then turns out to be, 'is that it?'. Haven't we seen a load of little monos recently? WOW!!!

Then Peter backpedals and tries to deny anything of the sort. Saying that it was an internal company paradigm shift or some such nonsense.

As was said by another poster - People just don't like their marketting bullshit. Simple as.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

It seems that UNO is IKM's first hardware synth, while all their other hardware has been accessories and stuff like that, plus their software. So from the company's point of view it might indeed be a paradigm shift.

Maybe Arturia felt the same way when they started to make hardware synths, as opposed to all their software emulations.

Plus, they don't seem to be native speakers, so they might use fancy English terms more carelessly. Same thing with Tone2's marketing.

There was no backpedaling. Sorry to burst that bubble of denial. This campaign was tightly calculated and set that way long ago. Every phrase, clue, and misdirection was calculated. And the results show that the campaign worked. It REALLY worked.

Thank you for your participation, though. However, this thread has had enough actual discussion about UNO Synth that it really doesn't need these philosophical marketing discussion bumps so I'll try to stick to the product as much as possible from here on in.

Esatto. Or, exatamente (correct that one if I'm wrong).

So what? I doubt anyone of that handful of internet heroes would walk into a store in real life, and shout out "f**k THESE LIARS!! DON'T BUY HERE!!" to the customers in the shop. Just take a look in this thread. Most of the guys who were all over IK in the other thread are not present here. Figures. No interest at all in the actual product.

Anyway, back to topic, so this doesn't become IK troll thread no. 2.

You are a back peddler simple as... In my opinion.

Good choice of words there. Deny it all you want! Everybody has seen your 360 the evidence is clear IMO... :tu:

I thought we were talking about the synth, no? Your logic is indeed surreal. I guess it matches your marketing.
