Alright, I have VOTED!
AND I did get a notification from Soundcloud that I'm commenting too much and must shut up, otherwise I'll be blocked.
...guess I should either spawn my listening sessions over several days or simply, well...shut up?! :P

Anyhow, wow. I want to say something, but I have to say it in a more caring and compassionate way toward certain developers, but THIS synth, as humble and coarse as it is, it has brought out AMAZING stuff out of virtually all of us! Some other not so humble synth that may not be so free either somehow just couldn't do that. For any developer this should be a wake-up call and something to pay great attention to, I think. A synth just has to satisfy some basic needs properly and everything else then is character. But without them satisfied, well, stuff just doesn't come out right. I found that absolutely stunning and I had a blast listening through all the tracks this month! :hyper:

Congrats on a fantastic OSC round! :tu:

Totally agree with Taron. I personally enjoyed working and designing sounds (usually not my forte) on this VST. Simple and easy to use UI only made it that much more satisfying in the end.

Cheers everyone :tu:

but I will come back later to listen all tracks again and maybe shuffle them again. Very nice tracks here :tu: . I would love to give 5 to all but it will be not fair against some exceptional tracks here. Still I will be generous as much I can. :D

Well.. this explains a lot.

You know that filter thing I didn't know was OK for OSC's until this challenge?.. and started using (a lot)?

Well, apparently Studio One's; Autofilter.. is completely buggy on my system. Just figured that out working on the percussion for #111.

It sort of seems to "forget" its settings between sessions.

I say 'sort of'.. because the settings for Autofilter look the same after you close and then reload the song.. but they aren't, internally. It totally ignores a bunch of its actual settings.

If you tweak a knob, and then click the "compare" button, everything goes back to its proper (actual) settings. But if you close it down and reload.. nope.. all gone again.

No wonder I was having so many issues mixing that thing. The seemingly billions of instances I was using of Autofilter were all defaulting to some horribly wrong settings, between sessions.. and I didn't realize it. Then I'd just tweak the mix again (and again), trying to fix stuff.. over and over again. Went through that dozens of times. :?

So anyway, if you're using S1, and Autofilter.. make sure it's not bugging out on you before you continue using it. I've switched to Tone2's freebie filter instead (BiFilter2).

Also, I got so much feedback regarding the overall tone of the mix, that I investigated further. I think the liberal use of many (many) instances of Voxengo's; Stereo Touch I used, was a partial cause for that. It definitely adds color.

It also explains the weird 'space' it put the entire mix into. I used it on almost every instrument.. usually with some verb after it as well. Sort of makes things sound like they aren't coming from anyplace in particular, which is weird.. for an entire mix, of nothing but somewhat bland 8-bit instruments.

:smack:

Oh well, live and learn.. and not sleep, or eat.. because, OSC is life. :clown:

BiFilter2 looks amazingly cool. https://www.tone2.com/bifilter2.html

However I can't seem to find a free version that falls within the rules, specifically...
The effects must be easily available freeware 3rd party effects. This does not include plug-in betas, demos, magware or freeware that has expired, unless a special exception is made that month.
I see where BiFilter2 was once free in CM magazine but I can't find where it free to all currently.
Do you have a link where it is freely available?

I downloaded it, from a link, on the official KVR OSC Recommended Plugins page.. several weeks ago:

https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/re ... ed-plugins

But now.. that link is totally dead.

So, I guess sometime between then and now.. it stopped being free.

Figures.. now I gotta look for another (actual) freebie filter vst. :?

Bummer.
Was hoping you would have a working link so I could start using it. :(
Please post if you find a good replacement.
My searching has yielded few that work well in my system.
