how are Bitwig & Studio One supports?

sorry for another topic. the IL support is really good but sometimes very lagging but still i would rate it 4/5. Ableton support seems to be 4/5 - 5/5 as far as i read. i hate companies which give a crap so as i want a 2nd daw in future i check "Neutral" experiences here.

heavily interested in BITWIG! studio one seems also a very nice choice! (Logic is out of place, no mac, and i read there is nearly to none support so no!)

so as these 2 additional DAWs are interesting (i demoed bitwig only 1 hour so far and still have to check how it works, coming from fl studio no DAW is so beautiful like FL Studio and easy for me, but i have to get into the workflow first)

HOW is their support? Especially Bitwig is interesting as it is quite not long on the market and still worked on!

thanks guys!

By the amount of threads you already created here, my guess is you must be a nightmare for any support desk.

I dont think that means what you think it means.

There is a guy in the studio one support team called Ari.
Some years ago i had some support requests and i don´t remember what he replied but i do remember he being smug about it and since then i stopped asking presonus about anything in fear he would reply again.

Bitwig i don´t know, heard some good things about their support but i guess that experience with presonus made me stop using supports alltogether.

Ari isn't just part of the support, he's also a developer, the Mai Tai instrument is one in which he designed I believe having had conversations with him. I've never had the impression of him being smug, but rather difficult to make a point with, but if you are able to provide strong enough evidence to support your issue, you will meet an agreed view. Depending on the issue at hand, it may be carried forward and looked at further.

To the OP...

In the bigger view of things, most daws are highly complex programs with thousands of lines of code. It's up to you as a user to test them to determine whether that piece of software is able to perform the required tasks you expect it to, regardless of whether there is any support there or not. If one is determining the support level of the piece of software they are using above that of the software in which it is able to fulfil it's purpose, then their expectations are really out of touch with reality....because most software companies don't have the time or resources to hand hold you with baby steps to teach you to use a piece of software, however, there are if a piece of software is popular enough, many different resources in which any help can be found, either through support forums or even that of youtube / vimeo videos.

Those things alone should be enough to that of a point where you should never need support, if you are not already smart enough to work out how to solve any issues yourself.

I find Ari pretty harmless. He's protective of his product, yes, but then, which developer isn't? Never quite got the beef some community members have with certain developers. Up to the point where people know almost every developer by the first name, and wrote dozens of emails, and stuff. No wonder that gets annoying for the devs or support workers at some point.

My view on the Studio One support is that they always dodged the problem by re-directing you to the forum. Studio One used to have huge CPU problems, I think it was until 3.5 was released, or maybe 3.3, but it they could never admit it. Now when this is fixed, it only proves that the problem was real.

Regarding the Bitwig support, they have always been friendly and helpful, and even generous. If I would choose a DAW based on the support, I would choose Bitwig (of these two).

That's the thing. I see absolutely zero reason to do so.

That move put Presonus on my blacklist, would never want to deal with company like that. Shout out for Jo from Mutools, best support ever.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Not sure how Ari got to be a developer or an virtual instrument creator in some people's minds but he doesn't appear to be a developer based on that page. He did make a nice commercial preset package for MaiTai however and he is in the same room as the dev team as it were.

hmm your thread says otherwise, that you want to choose a daw based on support :)

Man, the amount of threads you created with those questions...is this is Sheldon Cooper in disguise? (sorry, couldnt help myself)

As for studio one support, i remember maybe only couple times asked something, asnwers were good, no complains. But the coolest thing is that the program is so well made and bug-free (havent found yet) and stable you dont need that support.

Add to that i have alot of my colegues using Logic Pro X, no one complained ever about needing to contact support :)

Just make music with DAW the one that inspires you and doesnt interupt your workflow, if eventualy something comes up then you will see :) dont be focused on this kind of nonsense like "how is the support?", pick a daw just do some music :)

No but whole idea choosing DAW based on such thing as support and all other unusual questions kind of reminded The Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper :D

I'm puzzled here. :) I never created a thread on that topic, let alone an "amount of threads".
