Don't get me wrong , I also like a nice looking gui ..and have spend a lot of time designing the guis for my ensembles .
Point is that some uploads are just 15 year old ensembles with stock primary modules , with a gui slapped on..
If you have been using reaktor for long time , you know that every newbie feels the urge to upload his/her first synth .
It took me 5 years before being confident enough to upload something that feels unique

I love the Modal 32, it's a breeze to use, the color scheme
and fading intensity are pleasant to look at, and it makes
a range of sounds I enjoy using. I'll just do screengrabs
to chronicle a variety of tones. I'm guessing it's a perfect fit
with 4taps2lines, which I'll add once I get a nice handfull
of sounds. Thanks for posting the link!

Here's my test result using
Ploytec 2 ensemble mentioned earlier, to control
my Alesis QS8 hardware synth
Using Reaper daw,
Track 1 Load Reaktor and the Ploytec-2 ensemble
In the track input selector field, choose MIDI All: All channels
In the i/o setup box, in the MIDI hardware output field,
choose your midi interface
Track 2 In the track input selector field, choose your midi interface,
all channels
Track 3 In the track input selector field, choose the
audio line-in from your hardware instrument
I think the closer your hardware synth's design is to the real Ploytec,
and the more knowledgable you are of your hardware's inner design,
the more varied and useful the results you'll be able to get.
In my case, the Ploytec ensemble controls my Alesis QS8 modwheel,
pitch, and patch selection by default, with other controls having varied responses with different presets, the sustain button works on some sounds, etc
The overall synth sound also seems to be nicely enhanced,
like a nice EQ had been applied. And after toggling a bunch of switches, moving knobs etc, pressing the 'send all settings' button definitely changes the hardware synths output.
There are popups with useful information on most controls, but still
a page or two shy of a manual, especially if you share my lack
of deep technical knowledge. Probably a real Ploytec manual
is out there anyway.
Later I'll do some a/b comparisons of recordings
with and without the Ploytec, to verify that hearing some
general sound enhancement is not from a delusional
new-gear-placebo effect.
Also, Track 2 in the list above, may not even be needed,
it's just how I rolled it out.
Hopefully more expierienced daw and Reaper users will know and
share better ways. Reapers i/o box allows synths with
proper midi-out, to send to hardware devices with real midi-in's,
but getting a control gui involved is pretty cool.
Cheers

The 4taps2linesOneEarth is indeed a fine compliment
to Modal 32, the gui has great symmetry, colors
that won't strain the eyes, and plenty of presets
to work with and from. Little wonder the downloads
are in the 5K range. Using it with Razor and Modal,
but gotta sleep sooner or later.

I would propose to post the new stuff as a new post and not extend the first post. Then it is easier to follow... Or we might miss new additions and would have to scroll down to hell to eventually find it...

Na, I'd rather keep one big feature ensemble list in one post rather than have it broken up by peoples posts, scattered through out what may end up being a big thread people would have to wade through to find the ensembles they might be interest in. It allows for free flowing discussion without me posting large images and videos that would break peoples post apart as well.Tj Shredder wrote:I would propose to post the new stuff as a new post and not extend the first post. People can provide links on subsequent pages and I can pick and choose what ones can make the first post list, and people will know where everything is. Also on a practical sense for me, it makes it easier to keep track, update, organise, and perhaps re-categorise just one single post, rather than to try and update posts through out a thread as well.
It gives people a choice of how they want to view this thread, click through pages or simply scan down and discover if there's anything new and interesting to pick from right from the start. The original website forum thread was 25 pages long, and was also a slog to archive...

Yeah, I completely agree. As glokraw stated though, you do have to look past the most popular downloads because people (in the statistical sense) are swayed by pretty GUIs.gentleclockdivider wrote:Don't get me wrong , I also like a nice looking gui ..and have spend a lot of time designing the guis for my ensembles .

While there are a few well respected ensembles in this list, I think that the other thread that we had going on Reaktor was getting much closer to the heart of what makes for good Reaktor ensembles.

This is very much appreciated! I need to dive into the world of Reaktor a lot more during my summer vacation so your thread is a true goldmine of information.THE INTRANCER wrote:Prepared to be killed again... the original post just got bigger...and will continue to do so... and probably not just from the foot of it...chk071 wrote:Phew, the thread has reached page 2... the original post killed me, to be honest.

Thanks, yeah... it's a bit of a treasure trove, kinda like a big visual hybrid blog / thread kinda topic one can scan through. When I had posted much of this before on the old site I found it useful just a point of reference and aid in what I might want to use or play with. As well as see controls in better way as you can easily zoom in on a webpage. Adding brief notes / review dialog of key things of just what these ensembles provide is useful and interesting for myself and I suspect others also and we do forget things...but that does take more time in addition to testing...and other tasks to keep things rolling.bmanic wrote:This is very much appreciated!
