SampleTank2: ASIO System Overload message

I bought the Sonic Synth on the recent group buy & found the sampletank CD that came with it only worked on osX and above. So I went ahead and upgraded to SampleTank2 which supports os9.

I'm having serious problems with sampletank2 on my system. SampleTank2 is unuseable in any realistic arrangement -I can only use the plugin successfully as an audio instrument on its own with no other audio instruments loaded & with no other midi instruments playing.

For example if I load just one exs24 instrument & attempt to record on this track while playing back a single SampleTank2 instrument I get ASIO System Overload message (The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time) and the song will not play.

I also get this message when trying to record or playback midi instruments while playing SampleTank2 instruments.

When I look at the performance monitor I notice the 'Audio' bargraph zoom up to maximum as soon as the SampleTank2 instrument starts to play. Then I get the error warning.

I use logic at 16bit resolution 44.1kHz & have been doing so for almost 3 years now - using EXS24 & midi instruments with no problems or ASIO warnings.

Anyone here had/solved this problem?
