Here's a SS2 Free demo for your listening pleasure. Will be posting some more tunes here over the coming weeks, focusing on some of the more eclectic sounds from the SS2 collection.

1. "Optisimo" - 128Kbit/44Khz/4:05 - 3.84MB

2. "Optisimo - Lite Mix" - 128Kbit/44Khz/4:05 - 3.54MB - this mix is minus organ, arpeggio strings and softer drums. It give the SS2 patches a little more space to breathe.

100% made with Sonik Synth 2, except the drums are from the SR Studio Drums Capsule using ST2.

This tune is making use of some nice EP, analog strings, choral vox, pads, brass, organ, sine leads and JP waves. Those old analog synths sure sound sweet

To answer your question Squids has sent me a bunch of the pre-release Sonik Synth sounds for me to make demos with, some of which you will be able to get free from SR & IK over the coming months as part of SS2Free.

Thanks. I'm really busy at the moment, but in a couple of months I'd like to do a piece with just ST2FREE and SS2FREE, just to show how versatile these can be. I seriously think the effects section on the ST2 engine is way underrated!

Natural-sounding drumkit - not "produced" enough? Nothing a slab of tubetone, eq, and compression can't fix!

Weak guitars? Help yourself to a dose of Amplitube amp modelling!

Samples too weak or clean? You can lofi yourself all the way to next week and back with this thing!

Nice job! I think I liked the lite mix even better. Those effects sound nice, don't they?

Thanks DK. Yeah I like the 2nd mix too, much cleaner and clearer. The internal FX inside ST2 are damn fine; you can pretty much do anything you want to a sound. I am working on a new SS2Free demo and I've turned the EP into a guitar using the amp fx. Gotta love that.

ETA on the pre-order for people upgrading from Sonic Synth 1 will start some time on Monday starting with a special link sent out only to esoundz members first (although to be on that list all you have to do is join up at www.esoundz.com - it is free to join so you might as well, plus you can download free sounds and other extras).

The pre-order for the regular full price version won't start until the end of the month or so. Expected shipping time will be some time in October. But, those upgrading will have the benefit of being some of the first people to get it. This early opportunity and a good priced upgrade is to show our appreciation for those that supported Sonic Synth. There will also be another benefit for anyone who pre-orders the upgrade (a little something in advance to play with

You mean the ST2 to SS2 cross-grade? We'll be doing that too but I am not sure when. As soon as we can. That is done a little differently (more the same method of getting the auth for other IK upgrades, but we'd have to wait until that is all set up). However, customers who bought ST2 from esoundz might be able to get the cross-grade sooner because we can verify that you qualify easily by just looking it up.

Awesome songs. I loved the organ and strings, they really put some body into the tune.

All of Koorby's songs have a very particular quality that I've taken a liking to.

I've got most of his songs (I think), if there are any more I'll download them. I've burned a CD just with his songs, Spanish Fettuccini is a lovely guitar tune, best guitar tune I've heard in quite a while.

My favourite tune is "Song for a Rainy Day".
