Thorn Beat v Thorn CM ?

Hybrid! The core engine is additive/spectral I think with Wavetables/Shaping ability while the overall design is subtractive. Don't forget the Harmonic filter as well, which is a main part of the design as wellVELLTONE MUSIC wrote:THORN CM feels like complete synth, but i'm bit confused is it subtractive or additive synthesis - mix maybe ?
(Does it matter what synthesis/methods is using?!)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

u r right what matters is nice inspirational workflow and nice sound, which CM version has both, limited a bit but powerful enough to be used along other synths
I was just curious about the structure cuz it's not announced as wavetable, subtractive on site.
Definitely nice synth, worth investing money and time

It is very similar to Europa (in Reason). Yes, I agree, at first I also thought they are just another synths! But, later I realised they both can produce great sounds and have unique features like the Harmonic filter (Spectral filter in Europa). There are some differences of course and I think Europa uses less CPU. Anyway, I feel guilty to use Thorn CM! As it is almost the full version minus very few missing features (3rd oscillator, 2nd filter and some filter types, and also some effects and the ability to re-arrange them). I think this is all!! Crazy!VELLTONE MUSIC wrote:u r right what matters is nice inspirational workflow and nice sound, which CM version has both, limited a bit but powerful enough to be used along other synths

Same here - second time i play with it and already love it - feel this internal battle of 'i don't need to spend more money' and 'support the developer and start to make new stuff immediately',so if offer 50-60 glitch arps, seq something like what you hear in the end and for 1.99 euro donationware will somebody interested to donate ...always want to release something for 1.99eu and this is perfect moment hahahhaha

Thanks for all the kind words about Thorn CM – glad to see people are enjoying it!
Regarding FileSilo, our dev team have informed us that speeds should be improved now. I've tested the site in two different browsers and it definitely seems a lot more responsive.

Much better turning the FX off, especially the EQ.
Thanks for a bargain

Oh, I see. It just worked for me, as I already had my card details linked. Don't know how you'd access your credit. Sorry!Chris-S wrote:When I click on the 3,99 € button, a page comes up where I should enter a code, paypal or credit card.
So, my google play amount (20€) is not recognized.

Yeah, its a very impressive sounding synth.Igro wrote:Thorn. My favourite synth right now. Those pads and air shaking basses.
BTW, that CM issue contains on the page 37 a "cm synth roundup", collection of some best synth published as a cm version.
How to get those synths - I got the impression, that by purchasing one cm issue, you get access to the vault of earlier downloads. How does this work?

Anyone else get the feeling that Dimitry will soon realise he submitted the wrong version?
