Hi Kvr, ive been searching for a long time a sampler on the market that can do what is describe in the video below.
I want to set a loop bar on a sample and be able to automate the position of that loop bar, and move it freely through the sample.
Here is an example on a Reaktor Frame Sampler - excelent ensable by the way from Peter Dines.
Anyone can recomend somthing like this ?
big thanks

I love what Peter did with this ensemble, but i dont feel fully confortable in the Reaktor enviroment - is something i need to improve since i love Reaktor stuff, just still dont feel home -
Anyway, posted here cause i feel this "tool" very creative and have not find it in any other soft.
I know for example you can modulate start or end pint in ableton and other samplers, but is not as functional as this POSITION wheel.
Hope anyone can point other MAC vst or AU with this functionality.
cheers

I agree that Reaktor file handling is somwhat awkward - if it is that what you mean.
What comes close is:
http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/granite.php
I have a license for that many years and use it from time to time.
Will check the Reaktor Ensemble later ...

Image-Line Directwave can modulate loop start and end point.
The best instrument for such wavescanning has been for me Virsyn Poseidon. Really great sounding and very straightforward interface to work with. Too bad it's basically abandonware.

It seems TAL Sampler can do what you want:frangellico wrote:Hope anyone can point other MAC vst or AU with this functionality.

Thnaks a lot for the answers!! I have Tal Sampler, i really like it, but somehow start and end knobs dont get "linked" AS IN the video.
Will have to check if is 1.4 as in the vid. , maybe im not updated.
Pozeidon never tried it, but if i do get that function like in the video, im happy enough = )
huge thanks ! will check it today.

If you're using FL Studio I think Edison can do it - I know you can assign an army of loop start points to midi key triggers but I'm sure you can do some automating too.

Just to confirm to Etienne and the group, i can´t get Tal Sampler to do it as in the video, im on version 2.0
Probably im doing something wrong, but i did as in the video and START LOOP - end loop KNOBS are not linked. Neighter start sample wich keeps independent.
If anyone know the trick, please = )
tahnks!

Granular synthesis is your friend here, and it's essentially what you're looking at with the 'sampler' in your video example. Replicating the Reaktor ensemble's smoothing parameter would be nigh on impossible with a traditional sampler, for instance.
My granular synth of choice, The Mangle, can do this with ease. Set max grains per voice to 1, max out the grain rate, set grain envelope to have zero attack and release (assuming you want none of what the video example calls smoothing), and there you go. The grain length parameter now acts as your loop length, and it'll stay rock solid as you scan through the sample. I'm sure other granular synthesisers can pull this off too (The Mangle dev is absolutely dire with support and the like) so you might like to investigate a few others before putting your cash down.

I've wrote an email to the TAL support.frangellico wrote:Just to confirm to Etienne and the group, i can´t get Tal Sampler to do it as in the video, im on version 2.0

But maybe like cron mentioned you are looking for a granular sampler alternative?

Thanks Cron! for sure will take a look today
I was aware of the granular aproach, but for some reason i find this "funcion" kind of too simple for a granular sampler. As you said i will be using only one grain. Maybe is too much for a sample too, so i will give it a try anyway.
big thanks for the tips, very useful.
