VIDEO:

For the past 2-years, countless volunteers (Programmers, Sound Designers, Testers) have volunteered their time to create the world's first Pro Free & Open-Source iPad Synth. Here's the amazing story of how it was made and an exclusive first look at the app. Thank you for everyone's support in making this possible!

Just watched the video. Wow... Seriously, gave me chills. Am excited about this app for a lot of reasons. Congrats, and well done!

Is it the world's first "Pro" free, or the first "Pro" open source, or the 1st "Pro" iPad synth? :P

Seems to be ...

Looks more interesting than most of these expensive desktop synths :)
Especially like the microtunig i saw.
Is it possible to create own microtunings within the app and/or load .tun or .scl files?
Or are there just presets to use?
With this and all the great synths which are already there and coming i think i need to get the next iPad finally.
I‘m really bored with my plug-ins (beside P900)
:D

Thank you everyone for your kind words! You are inspiring us to keep going.

You all rock!

Regarding microtunings, eventually we want to have it so people can make their own tunings. Like much open-source, it's a constant work in progress. It will first be released with over 100+ tunings. Hopefully, it will expose people to alt-tunings and really open people's eyes to the world outside of western scales

Thank´s. I would just be quite happy with .tun file import so that i can use the same tunings across my favorite apps and plug-ins which all support this.
What i like about iOS apps is the mostly better GUI to see what is going on and the more easy and faster way to interact direct with the GUI. IOS really lacks apps with proper microtuning while i think that it is even much better for this as a desktop workflow.
The Wilsonic app is a good example.
I started making music with iOS some years ago and then gone mainly mac but now i´m at a point where i maybe see iOS as the more interesting platform for synths (sample libraries have to catch up a lot).
Thank´s for all your hard work and all which were involved with this project. :tu:

this looks like the most sensible option, indeed!

Thank you, everyone! I have passed your feedback to the creator of Wilsonic, who is leading the tuning/microtonal efforts for AudioKit Synth One

That alone is really nice to hear. Another thing i feel more with iOS is the community of developers and often users as well feels more like family :D
Thank´s!

Will it have MPE support?

Yes, if things go smoothly! A contributor has started working on adding MPE support.

MPE, Ableton Link, and other "work in progress" features are listed here:

Oh nice...Sean Costello reverb included as well. :)
I also saw .tun file and/or .scl file import might be in the works too.
Is there already a manual pdf to read somewhere.
And could someone add new OSC, FX, filters, saturation etc. to it if i understand it right.
One more....does it audio rate modulation yet too?

I was just playing around with Wilsonic earlier today (having just downloaded it last night). The idea of being able to use .scl files in an actual iOS synth is super exciting stuff to me! I knew that microtonal scales were cool but, I never drove myself to install Scala on my Mac (though I should have, or at least Wilsonic...I’ve had an iPad since 2015). I come to these things in VERY slow manner.

Thanks everyone!

After 2-years of hard work, we've finally released the app. Thanks for your support.
