It's not very good actually, unlike the NI and Arturia ones it doesn't actually seem able to tell if your plugins are up-to-date or not or even what you have on your system, just what's in your account, it then downloads and installs what you ask it to.GaryG wrote:+1...xx JPRacer xx wrote:Oh man, not another manager..... Kung-Fu Master not joking.
If Kung-Fu Master would joke nobody would catch the point because he is so fast...so he never jokes, but still people sometimes think he does, that's why Kung-Fu Master is not amused.
Kung-Fu Master activated his SpecOps license for his offline DAW to moments later being faced with the fact that there's no standard installer to download anymore.
Install Manager Applications (specially forced upon customers) are NOT Kung-Fu at all.
Kung-Fu Master will now take his money and buy beer, get drunk and rant all weekend instead of buying SpecOps.

Their first sign of dementia was flogging SoundSpot plugins, and now an Install Mangler, as PB slowly lose their grip on reality....

The experienced marketing cynic in me says installer manager apps are just another way to entice you to buy more shit.
That said, the PA one isn't too bad - but as stated above, it has no intelligence so it can't tell you what you already have installed and what needs updating. Infact I don't think it even saves your format preferences (VST2/3, 32/64-bit) between sessions, so it's pretty low tech. In some ways that's a good thing because it's not wanting to scan your directory every startup, slowing your computer down overall.

Great to see so many fans of SpecOps. I've had my eye on this plugin for some time and so I was delighted to spot the recent sale and jumped in. Sadly, the installation manager has not worked for me, so the cash is gone, but no product has arrived on my pc. I've had a ticket out with Plugin Alliance for two days now, and just quietly waiting nervously for some action.
This is not the first time I've bought from PA and installations have gone fine before, but for SpecOps on my Windows 10 machine, it never asked me what format plugin I wanted and never asked me the folder location to install. The failure to ask these questions said to me that either the installation manager does not work, or just possibly the latest Windows 10 update has more issues than I thought. Either way, no plugin was deposited on my machine as evidenced by none of my DAWs finding it, and cross-checked by a search of my drives.
*** UPDATE ***
Solved - my bad!
The installation Manager was trying it's best (apparently), but since I had not selected which VST format I wanted (a tick box) then the SpecOps selection was greyed out. When I went through Installation Manager again, installation proceeded as expected and the option was available to select the VST folder.
All good (if not exactly intuitive).
