im curious to know if software developers give out any type of Rewards for reporting people who are selling they're programs pirated via the internet ...

im curious I have the proof in the puddin

various native instruments stuff
steinberg cubase
sampletank ...

some others as well

Some of the 'big' software companies do offer rewards. People like Discreet (3DS MAX) even place adverts in the specialist press offering rewards. But then they deal in very high-cost packages.

Personally a nice thank you from the developer is enough for me

As the developers have to pass on the financial damage to their paying customers, the reward you get is obvious!
Should be reason enough, don't you think?

no,but i figure if there is a reward[not money]
i'd report it first to someone that would offer a reward then to the people that dont. no rush,this idiots not going anywhere.

i dont want money,thats not the type of reward i wanted ....

just curious,i'll give more info on this whole thing after i sleep and wake again,

hell i'd love to hear your comments/views on this tattling...

I can't believe you would even ask that question. It doesn't hurt the software companies, they just factor it into their pricing and make their customers pay. So you'd be doing us all a favour, surely that is reward enough?

oh and i'll pass on all of the smart ass replys,im not supporting bootlegs so dont try and scold me ....

im asking a simple question,i just figured that with all of these developers holding little silly contests to give away prizes,that they'd have little rewards or something for the capture of Pirates <--- like a bounty?

but damn maybe i shouldnt of made this thread since people are trying to get down on me,obviously!

theyre making assumtions on how much they lost to people copying and selling theyre cds?

They know how many units the're likely to sell and they price accordingly. Without piracy they might sell twice as many and they could afford to sell it cheaper. They don't need to know any piracy numbers to know that it affects sales.
