I read the forums here regularly but hardly ever make any comment (probably 'cos you all seem to know much more than me, and you all seem to know each other quite well).

I just wanted to say "hi" to everyone and thank you for making me laugh (especially some of the tarnce-related posts) in front of my computer screen each day when I should be working.

cheers,

deps

Post

you're welcome and welcome to KvR :) Stick around and post more I say...

Post

The more the merrier! :D

And just remember, it's not me that's making you laugh...

It's the scotch.

Post

Post away I'd say :)

I noticed this afternoon that the members are now 40.000+

welcome and be aware that if it might be an effort today, tomorrow it'll be an addiction

and the effort will consist in leaving your screen to achieve some basic operations like: working, eating, sleeping, making some music... :D

Post

Welcome! :)

I don't post as much either; been hanging around for more then 2 years though. I't just that so much has been covered already and a (highly overlooked) forum search gives me a solid answer 9 out of 10 times.
So my contributions are mostly music related (not to much gear talk I mean) or... just lame shit. :D

You and everyone else (and I'm no exception) :D

"K-v-R - Where lame shit comes to die"

Hey, maybe that should be the site's new slogan?

Ben???

Hey, this is exactly what I thought last year :D . There ARE many fine people around that may know more like you and me, but, err, there are others too . So simply write whatever comes into your head :) if you'd like to, it'll be surely useful for some round here.

cheers

I'm another of those "long time lurker, recent poster" people and the thing I'd point out is that KvR is not really biased towards technical knowledge.

Don't get me wrong - there are plenty of regular posters here who've forgotten more than I'll ever learn when it comes to anything technical (by the way, "technical" in this context includes music theory, composition skills, mastering, patch creation, understanding of synths etc.) but the thing I find encouraging about the forums here is the fact that many of the threads relate to people's thoughts and opinions on particular topics, where there are, generally, no absolute rights or wrongs.

The other (and, in my experience, unique) thing about the forums here is that people are generally pretty respectful to each other. Of course there's the odd exchange that gets a bit heated but given the volume of posts here I'd estimate that only about 0.1% of threads goes that way - compare that to some other forums, where it doesn't seem possible to say anything at all without some idiot having a go at you.

So - feel free to ask for answers (you'll always get some!) but don't forget that your opinion is worth as much as anyone else's.

Except mine of course :D

Regards,

Derek.
