As tittle suggests, spent some time on You Tube and I feel true gems are hidden beyond what is popular there, I don't like this, it seems everyone is inspired by the same movie and music is not even memorable, just bunch of same cliches that sound like album fillers, is there more to it, can anyone suggest something, anyone here making something different?

The Midnight, Miami Nights 1984, Lazerhawk, FM-84&co, car is main cover theme in most of them, music sounds the same too, care to reveal some name to escape this circle?

I saw that movie Drive, don't like music in it at all, don't like that movie at all actually, so if the main inspiration for most is that movie, than...

It sound like people are just suggesting "synthwave" bands. If that's what you're after, this is a guy from my home town (he's not famous at all... but he's awesome!)

Another band I'm really into (one of my all time favorite bands in fact) is Donkey Boy, they're from Norway and are relatively unknown.
