Ways to combine Max4Live devices with Stock devices?

As we know, the creative extensions pack came out a few days ago. Some great stuff, but having to dig through all of the Max devices to find them gets to be a bit of a pain. I've tried to look for any possible little hacks that would let me add some of my favorite Max devices to the default Instruments/Audio Effects/MIDI Effects categories on the browser sidebar, zilch. I've run out of Collections to use(which, by the way, is unfortunate that I can't atleast reuse colors. 7 really isn't enough.), so that's not really an option unless I want to lose the collections that I'm currently using.

Got a feeling this is going to be pointless, but anyone know of anything I could do?

If you look under Categories>Max for Live, it shows up there under Creative Effects (rather than individual device names), then helpfully split into Audio Effects, Instruments and MIDI Effects. I installed it again, expecting to see it in Packs but not finding it on first install.

Might be worth going old school and just creating folders in Explorer and moving the devices to places that make them easier to find. PITA initially but should make things easier once you're done.

Yeah, that'd be the folders that are super full and difficult to find anything in at this point. :hihi: Where are you referring to making folders in, out curiosity? Figured I'd try, but I can't figure out what I'm looking for.

Well, probably find where the M4L Devices are stored on your computer would be a good start, so go to Packs>open in Explorer (or whatever the Mac equivalent is), create subfolders within that folder for the type of effect/instrument (e.g. delays, filters, etc) then drag and drop the devices into those subfolders. Once you've done this, go to Add Folder in Places (below Categories in Browser) and then you can access them easily

Oh, through places, I see. I was trying to find if there was a centralized folder where the devices are copied. :dog: Thanks.

Np, I can appreciate the full horror of seeing loads of unsorted devices and plugins so glad to help :)

Hah, yeah appreciate it. I know I should just be patient and spend the minute or so to search for the device I want, but nearly 200 audio effects starts to feel pretty messy. Plus, I'm a bit of a sucker for stock interfaces, so I'd really like it if I were able to put the devices I like into the stock device categories. :hihi:
