Hi,

Short story is my PODXT Live internal USB port has went bad and it will no longer let me connect it to the PC without throwing up horrible errors.

I decided to buy a Behringer UMC22 so that I can connect my Yamaha HS5s to my PC and can change volume using the output dial.

I was still wanting to use my PODXT Live for my effects if possible and I have tested it and that part of it still works.

Is there anyway I can connect the PODXT Live into the Behringer Audio Interface to be able to play my guitar using the effects on the board??

Other than that can someone recommend a program on the PC I could use for getting some tones and models on the PC.

I am not a professional in anyway, I mainly use my setup for PC gaming and playing the guitar alongside music.

Thanks

Why can't you connect the POD's output to the interface's input?

So would I just connect the LEFT and RIGHT outputs on the POD to the MIC/Line1 and Instrument 2 ports on the UMC22?

If so do I need to change any settings on the POD output or just keep it as "Studio Direct"?

I think you are going to want the level switch on the XT Live set to Line, and connect the left/mono output of the XT Live to the Line input (the TRS connector, not the XLR part) of your audio interface. Leave the XT Live output setting at Studio Direct.

Alternatively you could plug your guitar straight into the Instrument input of your audio interface and use some amp modelling software. There are plenty of free and paid for options.

Good luck!

Thanks,

When you say plug it into the TRS and not XLR part of the UMC22, you can actually put it into both, but I will try with the TRS socket only.

I did download Amplitube and tested the free presets on that, but what I never liked was it sounded very distorted and low quality compared to when I run my settings through the PODxt Live.

Also when Amplitube was on if I went onto Youtube or something else the audio wouldn't play, it was as if Amplitube kept the audio output for itself.

Another small question sorry is can I connect a gaming headset (mic port) to the UMC22? I tried plugging a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter into it on both the Headphones and MIC/Line1 input but after plugging it in I got a spike of life from the levels, but it wouldn't recognize my voice. I tried enabling +48v but same outcome.

Don't plug headphones into line/mic inputs!! They are inputs, not outputs. Plug your headphones into the headphone out. The +48v is for a phantom powered microphone only.

In theory you should be able to connect the microphone of your gaming headset to the mic input of your audio interface, although this isn't something I've done personally. Certainty your gaming headset will not require 48V position power.

It is possible that the combo input is expecting a mic level signal at the XLR input and a (much hotter) line level signal at the TRS connector. This might explain why the voice signal from the mic on your gaming headset appears not to show up when using a TS connection. It could also be that there is a misconfiguration of audio settings / defaults in your computer so it is looking for mic input from another source. You will need to tweak the input gain to get a suitable level.

Thanks for the reply, I had a spare (cheap) USB adapter with built in headphone/mic jack (because my onboard audio has went faulty). So I just connected my headset to that.

So I have:

AUDIO CODEC (Behringer) - Running as default audio playback using Yamaha HS5s
AUDIO DRIVER (Cheap adapter) - Running as default audio recording using gaming headset

I have it set up for the PC Gaming at the moment. I tried to repair the Line 6 USB port yesterday but still no joy. So right now I need to plug MONO into MIC/LINE1 and use the floor board to make tones (only downside is my purchased packs wont work :( )

And if I want to ditch the floor board and go straight to software modelling then I cannot play along with songs from iTunesYoutube because they use the same Audio CODEC :(
