Hi

Although Kontakt seems to have a lot of advanced libraries in terms of scripted Orchestras, choirs etc. It seems capable of quite a lot of more creative stuff that doesn't seem as widely explored. Stuff like Granulate http://fracturesounds.com/product/granulate/ and OddHop http://dulcitone1884.virb.com/oddhop

It seems like there could be a world or loop remixers, sliced sequencrs etc. Stuff you could load your own samples into an play with.

Any instruments/libraries you think would fit the bill?

Curious to hear others’ thoughts in this too.

I dunno if it counts but I tried to do some interesting stuff with chords and arps on this version of the VSCO2 Community Orchestra... It was kind of trying to do a free version of what was done in The Orchestra, though I'm nowhere near the coder those guys are.

hgsounds has some stuff going on with sequencing https://hgsounds.com/product-category/kontakt/

Modwheel are an interesing bunch - very musical. their waveskimmer is starting to explore scripting a bit more http://www.modwheel.co.nz/waveskimmer Definitely one to use lots of automation on to get the most out of it

The most radical I think are the works from fairlyconfusing http://waveforms.fairlyconfusing.net/ Cracklefield is a monster - you could spend a lot of time just using it for everything from chaotic systems to regular beats

Cinematique Instruments has some interesting stuff, as well as some more "traditional" libraries. Marble and Fabrique come to mind.

Fluffy Audio's TimeDrops seems like a neat granular type of engine that lets you load your own sounds.

I'll also give a +1 to Fairly Confusing Waveforms for all kinds of mad science.

Orchestra Enigmatica - loads of fun, quick musical results, semi-algorythmic/euclidian (if you want), you can load your own samples, multi-timbral, multi-arp/seq. Kontakt Hub has a ton of other experimental Kontakt gizmos as well.

Thanks everyone, some really interesting stuff there. Just got the HGsounds Group Buy and Cassetto, going to get Time Drop too. Looks like I'm going to be skint pretty soon.

Yes, you are :)
If you haven't already, try looking at:
Hollow Sun http://hollowsun.com/
Hideaway http://hideawaystudio.wordpress.com/
Atomhub http://atomhub.net/
Tronsonic http://tronsonic.com/
Synth Magic http://synthmagic.co.uk/
SZCZ http://www.fairlyconfusing.net/
Rhythmic Robot http://www.rhythmicrobot.com/

... and probably loads that I've forgotten. Some of these have some seriously wacky scripting going on (SZCZ in particular), but all of them are highly creative uses of Kontakt. There are lots of granular engines around for Kontakt now, several of them free IIRC.

EVERY Kontakt device by Sound Dust is worth a close look; they're packed with cool ideas beautifully implemented, to say nothing of the great sounds.

Here's another thread on this topic with some others not yet mentioned here.

Channel Robot's got a bunch of interesting devices.

A couple more I think deserve mention:

Soniccouture's Scriptorium …old but really strong, just scripts you can add to any library.

PluginGuru's DelNorte Attacks …cool scripting, but even cooler layering device with any other synth or sampler.

That's too bad! The blog entries seem to be new ones, not from the original pack.
