Can't say I blame them. They probably get a lot of complaints.

I had one of their Eurorack mixing desks. It was great until one day it just stopped working. It was cheaper to replace than to repair, so I binned it and bought an Allen & Heath desk instead.

Pretty much across all music tech news outlets haha.thecontrolcentre wrote:Where is it a very big story?
... and who are behring?
Behring is as far as i am willing to go, just in case, I don't have a lot of money to be taken off me
I was always a big fan of their cheap as chips approach and in recent times their build quality had gone up to be as good if not better than most others, now i am in full boycott mode of them and their products, will cost a ton extra for live set ups and such, but trying to sue forum users for having an opinion is just too much.
Duh

They have Gearslutz on lockdown, removing threads and locking/banning users like its going out of fashion, I've never seen any company do this, it is a bit surreal.

different names too, obviously therefore, different products.sprnva wrote:Come on. Clearly the Behringer one is silver while the original is blue. It's not a copy!

Bathing forum users.
Nothing dirty, just a stiff caulky rub.

Yeah that's why I never use GS anymore. They're so damn heavy-handed over there. Their marketplace also so strict that it makes it unpleasant to even list items. I stopped using it when they demanded that you can only list one item per post. If you have dozens of different cheaper items for sale it's unfeasible. Not everyone is selling an $8,000 crane song preamp.bungle wrote:They have Gearslutz on lockdown, removing threads and locking/banning users like its going out of fashion, I've never seen any company do this, it is a bit surreal.

Oh bummer... I thought Behringer were getting copied (serves them right) but it's the same story as ever.masterhiggins wrote:From the article. LOL.
Regarding the "big story", the article essentially shuts it down:
End of story, move on please sheeple, nothing to see here! The court rejected the suit, ruling that "all of Music Group's (Behringer's parent company) claims against it arise from activity protected by the anti-SLAPP statute, because all of the claims are based on statements that were made in a public forum on an issue of public interest." The anti-SLAPP statute seeks to stop lawsuits designed to censor critics from going to trial. Dave Smith Instruments is now seeking to recoup financial costs.
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Don't think i'd care if i was Behringer though. Forums are often full of cr**, so, i don't know what "damage" a handful of posts do. I find it quite brilliant what they do as of late. Who wuld have thought that very close replicas of classic hardware could ever be snatched for such a small amount of money.
