I like the home page. It's simple but well designed. And I really like green.Zombie Queen wrote:http://www.fairlyconfusing.net

I think of it like a shrink's waiting room. It's only missing a Kandinsky print.jancivil wrote: refreshingly unimpressive

That's a smart one, a little computer with regular browser. Here's what I got:thecontrolcentre wrote:Mine's an old Nokia Lumia running Windows ...
Funny thing is that it actually has a browser, though it's hardly usable. Most sites looks like mine on it.

I just threw it together 2 days ago. I started with Word Press as that's what bluehost now shoves down everyone's throats. Then I tried to install xoops because of all the portals I'd installed in the past I liked working with xoops the most (it was the most flexible) This build was pure crap. So down it went and up came WP again. I've had some really bad experiences with WP in the past that I didn't want to relive. Back then I could go through and edit the code manually but it's been way too long since I've done serious coding in php.
The site still needs a lot of work.

This one must be v3 or v4. I've hand-coded everything in Dreamweaver using very little borrowed code.

Ah, well. I never tested it on that platform. It's strange though, as it's quite simple CSS.thecontrolcentre wrote:The dropdown menu doesn't work on my Windows phone.Ghostwave wrote:https://www.ghostwaveaudio.com

HTML is trivial.
At least, my attempts.

I host content sometimes. I once had a portfolio, resume, music, and blog. It's irrelevant, for lack of motivation on my part, but feel free to visit it if you like.
The verbose response:
My site has much less content today because I'm not attempting re-entry into the shitty job market (and mostly gave up on design) because employer sociopathy is beyond my tolerances. I wasn't great at initial design anyway; I'm much better at improving existing design, QA and usability stuff... but respect for quality & usability expertise is dead. Also, SoundCloud is still more convenient for sharing my music (despite how utterly shitty SoundCloud is).
My first blog was stalked by sociopaths. I blocked them, so they made a hate blog on Wordpress dot com to defame me & my readers (Wordpress changed their TOU policies to explicitly avoid dealing with it). I pulled my own blog because they were stealing its content and I got sick of filing DMCA takedowns. Plus, due to being on Effexor at the time, the blog's content was way too personal and reactive for the reality of the Internet being full of sociopathic lowlife scum.
Years later, I've started another blog (using an install of Wordpress, which I hate) with infrequent posts. Most recent is my commentary about how people think about Blade Runner:
http://dysamoria.com/blog/2018/06/blade ... -question/
I considered starting a forum, but I can't be bothered to deal with the management, especially in light of bad internet denizens.
My primary website is simple HTML. I hate CSS with a frelling passion. Only the blog uses it, because no real choice exists (all "content management tools" suck). Customizing my theme took a whole day of swearing and CSS investigation, wherein I found that I was not the only person who despises CSS (though most geeks keep telling everyone "you're doing it wrong", despite cogent argument for why CSS is garbage).
I'm just not interested in web stuff. The World Wide Web and HTML were not designed for page layout or software design. All the extensions & scripting has made the internet a pile of bloated garbage (rather than starting over with something made for the purpose). And then there's capitalism, which has wrecked the web with marketing.
I don't care to keep pace with tech fads/trends nor try to change the entrenched geek mindset that maintains the status quo (learned that lesson with BeOS' failure on the market and Haiku's development being taken over by Linux-style open source tech mentalities... and politics & human behavior).
(I have an anti-tech rant-blog on google's shitty Blogger platform: https://angryartboy.blogspot.com but I don't post very often)

I used to be great at coding html straight from the bottle. I just don't have the patience anymore. Sometimes I think about doing it all in SWiSHmax but due to the huge anti-flash fall out I wonder who would/could actually see it.
I still get about 10 to 20 ppl a week reaching out for support for swishmax support even though the company folded almost 2 years ago and you really shouldn't try to design for swf format. That's part of the reason I resurrected my site.
