Ways to make a good music video

Hi everybody,
I 've had my songs on soundcloud for many years until I finally decided to put some of them on my youtube channel.
But on youtube, what you post is not just music, it is video. And I think it is important to bring some quality to the viewers. We are all musicians here, and we can find a lot of help in a lot of websites but when we want to make a video, we dive in a new world. Especially when it is a music video.
I decided to use Blender because it is free and many people say it can do anything, I learned how to use it, and after many hours I made myself a lyric video. I am happy just with the fact that I did it, even if it is not a Marvel, but now I want to upload some others musics on youtube. And I am looking for simple ways to create something beautiful to the eyes.
Some channel just post a picture with the music, others put a spectral viewer, but you can also make 2D videos, use a green screen...
So my question is : did you do some nice music videos, and if yes, how did you do it? Do you have an easy way or process to do this?
Here is the link to my video
Cheers

Yeah, what vurt said. Don't forget to rap about how poor and ghetto you are while wearing said diamonds.
On a more serious note, you could try some thing like Processing. It's obviously not a quick and easy solution, but it's very flexible and free.
Most of those spectrum graph visualization thingies are done with After Effects, as far as I know. I don't know if there are any free alternatives around, but it might be worth looking for. There are also some cool free VJ style applications out there, I believe. Maybe that's also worth looking into.

I was just playing my guitar in my room, along with the radio.
My mother convinced me to go busking on the streets.
Then a bystander convinced me I should also sing and collect more money that way.
When it rained I played in the pub, but someone asked if I did something else than covers?
So I started writing my own music: chords and melody, later some lyrics.
A producer (in the old sense) came along and invited me to get some recordings made.
But he wanted some more background tracks on top of just my guitar.
I had some arrangement ideas for that all along!
It turned out that producer was just after my money, of which there was none.
But I got the taste for making recordings, so I bought a 4-track cassette deck and a mike to do my own.
Great fun ping-ponging tracks! On the way I learnt some proper sound engineering and basic mixing.
Then four tracks just did not cut it, and I bought an audio interface and switched to all digital in the box.
So I had these recordings I mixed and produced myself, and burnt them on a CD.
But they were not as loud as commercial CDs, so I learnt the hard way you had to master your tracks as well.
Some friends far away wanted to hear me play. So instead of sending them a CD I created a SoundCloud account for them to listen to.
And now you suggest I should make VIDEO myself as well?
No way, I'm not born to be a jack-of-all-trades
'Cause what I like most is just playing guitar in my room, along with the radio.
Follow me on YouTube, I'll show you how to play that Stairway to Heaven intro!

Man is least himself when he talks in the first person. Give him a mask, and he'll show you his true face

I used to run audio in iTunes with Classic Visualizer, screen capture that and edit it in Final Cut Pro. It can kinda sorta be edited in something that doesn't cost $300 or whatever it costs now, but that's what I did.
It takes a lot of computer to capture that and not drop like half of its motion, however.

I have made a dozen videos using a combination of found public domain footage, music visualizer (Magic music visualizer) , morphing artwork. I use Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Magic Music Visuals and other software packages to manipulate content. I have experimented with actual live film footage that I have shot with cameras and drones but they takes a different set of skills that I am not too keen to dedicate time toward. If you want to see a couple of my videos send me a pm and I'll give you a link to few of them. They are not discoverable on youtube yet but I can send you a direct link. I'd like to see a few of yours. - Scotty.

Hi! Okay this is a kind of video synthesiser where you have to code. It actually seems very complicated. I guess it is for live use or something like that? Not exactly what I am looking for.Delta Sign wrote: On a more serious note, you could try some thing like Processing. It's obviously not a quick and easy solution, but it's very flexible and free.
I didn't know the term VJ so thanks to bring that to me
