The grains part of the generator makes for a great metallic oscillator, but the # grains parameter cannot go above 100 to get the full range of pitch :?

Admittedly, the latter is not developed / supported any more, but I hear it works quite well as it is.
Well, for starters, it seems to be a great sounding VA in addition to its granular tricks. I know you could always layer another plugin, but having things all in one UI often makes for new types of things that you might not do with separate plugins.

BTW, I just checked and it still seems for sale on http://sound-guru.com/software/mangle/

Yeah! Finally I can destroy Rick Astley „Never gonna give you up“...
Why have you done this to me.

Rack Astley goes granular 2018 edition:

Why? You are asking the wrong questions.

No automation was used, it's all the internal modulation matrix doing its thing.

A real KILLER track ! :phones:

Surprised and extremely glad there is a demo, especially a non-expiring one. I tend to reward that.
30-days demos never give enough time for the plugin to grow on me.
Nicely played.

If yes, why exactly?
Thanks!
And of course AD support is way much better and easier than Steinberg, so that's another plus for Quanta.
I have Padshop Pro also, but the AU is flaky in Logic, Steinberg don't really seem to be supporting it well & Steinberg support really suck, they have the most appalling customer service that I have ever experienced. Audio Damage, on the other hand, have always been excellent.

A unique if not one of the more interesting granular synths available.
I will wait for a sale I think.

Great twist on granular guys! This will make for some serious inspiration

Yeah, I sampled stuff from 3 different Tom waits tracks and mangled them in Quanta with some Vintageverb at the end:

Why did I do that? I don't know!
Having lots of fun with the demo!

Why would you need more than 100 grains playing simultaneously to get the full range of pitch? I don't see the connection.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

The demo keeps crashing cubase over here. It sounds great though and the mpe support is lovely.

The demo also crashes Studio One 4 on mac.
Sent an email to support.

Won’t get to try the demo for a while but can you play polyphonically with unison enabled? And can the grain positions be offset for the unison voices? This would allow for Halion or falcon style multi-granular.

Somehow that turned Tom Waits into Thom Yorke.

Not sure what you looking for but, if you play one note with e.g. 5 voices in unison mode, they'll be an offset between voices (modulating grain position e.g. with an FLFO with RETRIG off).
