Just watched some youtube tutorials and all these stuff are really hilarious especially the ones when guys(sometimes kids) say do this or set this values to this parameter or turn the knob to exactly this position ....what if use different ones?
- in case you are absolute beginner probably will be helpful somehow to have any understanding,if not confuse you totally, but also i guarantee you will never be able to make useful original sound for your mix this way.
My advice is simple and i'm telling it after 5 years watching any weird stuff in youtube
- don't rely on any tutorials to teach you how to make your sound
- start to analyze presets,it's the way self education works and it will gives you deeper understanding
- there is tons of videos you can try all that you can see,but still best way is
- self discover analizing and searching for your sound.
Thanks :)

I found most sound design tutorials not really very helpful. You know what is sorely lacking IMO? Some tutorials to make "that sound from that track" (after all, that's what most people are asking for). Instead, they give you possible ways to achieve a sound which is similar to most factory sounds which come with synthesizers (which IMO are quite lame mostly...).

Yes there is so many requests about it,but it's fan stuff - there is tons of layers over the original sound as fx,editing and the final mixing of overtones with all instruments
- i am still pure hobbyist when it comes to sound design, never been good at recreating old sound, but definitely think i have some achievements with discovering what new released synths can do
- i know will receive negative reactions for writing this but with new synth you can make better sounds.
Example :
One of my all time favourite bass lines, sorry it seems i am one of these self inloved guys hahahhaha but i already like my new stuff better compared to old favorites and don't see reason why to spend time to recreate it (just 5 minutes improvisation not 2 month work on it )
Imagine how many horizons new better synth open to every producer )Cheerz :)

You're right. I wouldn't expect tutorials to break down the whole sound, just to provide something which is remotely in the same ballpark. Sort of as a starter, to point in a direction. Just take a look at all the requests here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=100 People are frequently asking for a definite way to a tangible result. Most tutorials rather cover "how to make a supersaw". Well, which specific supersaw exactly? There are pads, there are leads, there are stabs, whatever you can do with a supersaw. I simply wished there were a bit more specific tutorials on how exactly to do that sound from that specific track. Because that's mostly what people are wishing.

Absolutelly :)
Man you just touch my weak spot about so called 'Supersaw' or 'Hypersaw'.
What's the difference - one is classic 7 voice old school Roland JP style 90ties 7 detuned saw voices other is Virus 9 VOICE unison.Ok.
Is that all? What about some original sound - how to do it or is all the same - no naturlih :):):)
I just take an hour break from a week with 3-4 hours sleep finishing something related to trance scene
so if supersaw, hypersaw is your thing check Soundware section again in two days
- i've got something to say about it sunday :)
Sylenth1 is 8 voices unison beast and believe me i did literary thousands of experiments with 1-16 voices so far with few synths i own and some demos and if i must say it in style of Anna Faris in 'Just Friends'
- 8 voice unison isn't something between 7 and 9 hihhihihihi :)
It's Sylenth1 thing same way supersaw and hypersaw are hardware JP and Virus things - if look closer Sylenth1 has it's own temper and shape trance music scene over a decade not by accident.
I was like no way to pay 139 euro for this synth - now i have over 4000 my own stuff and will not gonna trade it unless somebody offer lamborgini aventador for my golf + sylenth1 hihihi :)
