Everett...$2,50!? Only!? Are you kidding me!?

For this extensive list of tremendous changes?
For all your support and responsivness to the community?
For your great software and your dedication?
No way...

Fathom is a hilariously capable synth!

Folks, go buy it! I know what I say, I have spend a whole month with it and it was tremendous (huh, can one say this word still today?) fun and productivity.

Do I have to pay for the new update if I originally paid $10, twice the asking price at that time (to help with a Gordon's Gin issue)?

Guys, I'm back, sorry I had to sleep a few hours I had not slept in 2 days.
It will take a few minutes to read through the posts.

I will check the upgrade download I thought it contained Mac OSX but if not I will fix it and post here.

Peter H, LOL yes thanks, also you're presets from OSC are still in the upgrade, not sure I mentioned it but there are some great presets in there.

SciFiArtMan, Thanks, I sent you a PM email.

Fmr, the upgrade should come with an “MT” build, try that. Which upgrade are you using? Also, which host?

Teilo, Hi, you’re right the Mac OSX version was missing from the upgrade, I fixed it and sent you a PM with the new download link.

Masterhiggi, Yes, I know it’s a unique way of doing things, but see my description below.

Thesuzukimethod, yes they are free after a while, aslo see description here …

UPGRADES EXPLAINED: :phones:

Yes, I know the new upgrade policy is perhaps a little “original”. But here’s the deal, I had to start charging for upgrades simply to keep the project going, which is necessary since there are still some critical features to be added to Fathom which you all need.

But I realize that some people have just bought the product so it’s not fair to charge them for upgrades. So the solution is that paying for upgrades are voluntary, not mandatory.

So it is up to the user to chose their own payment schedule. My experience is that most users support the project and will chip in, so I wanted to avoid a complex corporate solution which is inconvenient. You chose your own schedule and pay for upgrades or download the free one according to your own usage of Fathom and how long ago you got it.

The recommended upgrade contribution is $10.00 per year if Fathom is your primary synth, and $5.00 per year if you use it but only occationally for instance just for drawing waveforms for your other main synth.

So for instance, if you just bought 2.11, download the free 2.12 upgrade this time, wait a couple releases and buy 2 upgrades between now and the end of 2018. If you bought early in the year, buy a total of 4 upgrades in 2018 to contribute the full $10.00 in 2018. Since upgrades come out every two weeks to a month, download the free version between ones you decide to pay for.

The password issue for 2.12 is incovenient, but that is only temporary because it will stay the same for the rest of this year. I had to change it because the “-“ were causing problems on some systems.

2.12 FREE VERSION

The free upgrade of 2.12 will go up in a couple days, so you won't have to wait long, still running some tests before the full release which will be a lot of downloads.

MAC OSX :borg:

I fixed the 2.12 upgrade to include Mac OSX, if anyone purchased the upgrade and needs the Mac OSX version please PM me here or email support and you will get the new link.

:!: MAC USERS

During Mac OSX testing I was unable to get my Logic Pro to let go of the old 2.11 plugin even though I deleted it from the Library. Could one of you tell me which version number is displayed at the upper left of the Fathom GUI when you run the new 2.12 upgrade on Mac OSX.

And for that matter, maybe someone could tell me how to get Logic Pro to completely clear it's plugin cache. I built the 2.12 version and Logic has 2.11 hidden somewhere and likes it so much it refuses to scan the new version. So Logic Pro users, please educate me.

For $11.00 I am not even going to try and figure out how to pay for an upgrade. I will gladly buy this thing all over again. I paid some crazy low price nearly a year ago and have received numorous monumental updates since.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Just want to chime in and say you are amazingly responsive, and while I bought the synth for the sounds, what tipped me over was scanning through this thread and seeing all the ways you were responding to various questions - but as Peter mentioned above, I hope you are finding time to sleep!

Your recommended but not required upgrade contribution system is cool idea - hopefully it nets you more support over time - as you are clearly putting a lot of time into development and maintenance of this plug.

Hadn't heard of this synth until now but looking it over and seeing your sale today I had to chip in and purchase a copy. I hope this sale helps with the long-run of Fathom as a business. :)

Scrubbing Monkeys, Thanks, Your new presets and wave tables sound awesome,
I think people are really going to love them in the new release.

:!: Also, sorry I need to re-iterate, I need a Mac OSX user to report the version number here.

It shows VERSION 2.12.3 Pro 64 Mac.

To clear the plug in cache one needs to login in/out from his accounr (this behaviour came with HS 10.13.xx).

OK, That's good news, 2.12.3 is correct for the Mac.

Everything is working fine in OSX?

Login/out of the OSX user account? Or the Logic Pro account?

EDIT a new password resolved the issue I mentioned below!

Hi, when I enter the password for the windows version update,
I get this error message:

C:\Fathom2-12\Fathom_Pro_212_Update_Full.zip: Wrong password for Mac\Fathom.component\Contents\MacOS\Fathom

Cheers

Sorry, there's trouble there.

I sometimes get reports that the password does not work, and I advise people to be very careful about pasting it in, make sure you copy the whole thing, caps lock is not on if typing, no white space, no carriage return hidden at the end, paste it first into a text document then paste into zip to strip it, etc, etc,

And without exception users always report back that it worked.

I'll download myself right now and try it.

It could be there are problems unzipping on Mac if the zip was created in windows.

If this is the case, if everyone using Mac would like to advise a different zip program that you know works, I will use that instead and actually zip the Mac OSX updates on Mac instead of windows.

EDIT: OK, I just downloaded it myself onto my Mac and pasted in the password and it unzipped great.
