The instrument version didn't show up for me at first cuz the file extension was named blabla.dll__
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

Hey guys, stupid question but I'm new to VCV rack, I want to use the VST as an effect in my FX chain to process audio going through it but I'm not getting any sound when I put it on. Presumably I have to do some kind of routing but I can't figure it out by browsing the VCV site. I'm using Ableton if that matters.

Take a look at the video I posted on the first page (skip to 1:50m if you're in a hurry).dubguy99 wrote:I want to use the VST as an effect in my FX chain to process audio going through it but I'm not getting any sound when I put it on. Presumably I have to do some kind of routing [..]
The VST's audio inputs can be tapped at the "output" connectors of a Core.Audio module.
Instead of using multiple Core.Audio modules (like in the video), you can also use just one (the resulting wiring might look a bit messy, depending on how your patch is set up).
cool ! thanks for the feedback !kokotte wrote:Thanks a lot for your work,
it works perfect in bitwig !

Greetings !
Trying to build with Linux, I've hit a snag. Would you prefer the bug/error reports to be posted on github or here ?
Best,

Github kinda seems to be the better place for that sort of thing?

I just turned on the issues tracker on Github, feel free to post there.StudioDave wrote:Trying to build with Linux, I've hit a snag. Would you prefer the bug/error reports to be posted on github or here ?
However, to make one thing clear: I created this VST for personal use (especially to be able to play VCV Rack patches polyphonically) and I won't maintain it forever.
It will sooner or later go out of sync with the VCV repo and unless the VCV people take over, this is it.
All sources are in the repo, and if you want new features, or port it to another OS, just fork the repo, do whatever needs to be done, and create your own version of it.
That being said, when you submit an issue report on my repo, I _may_ answer it but you have to understand that I have a lot of other fish to fry, i.e. my own projects (which are not ports), and last but certainly not least, make some music with this !

Understood, no problem.bsp804 wrote:... to make one thing clear: I created this VST for personal use (especially to be able to play VCV Rack patches polyphonically) and I won't maintain it forever.
Understood, I also have limited time to work with it but I will try to get a build going on Linux. I'll post my error on your github repo and will keep the technical questions there. That being said, when you submit an issue report on my repo, I _may_ answer it but you have to understand that I have a lot of other fish to fry, i.e. my own projects (which are not ports), and last but certainly not least, make some music with this !

Just wanted to add my own thanks to the growing list for doing this, only started with VCV last week and was already hoping for better DAW integration, hats off to you.
I have had it working in both Kore 2 and Cubase 5 (parameter host automation also working here), there is a some strange behaviour with the plugin window (it seems to almost minimize when you hit play on the transport and needs to be closed and then re-opened). Certainly nothing you cannot live with, but is it possible to get the DAW clock for synchronization with the loops in VeeSee? I know Rack has 2 clock outs on module 'MIDI 1', but they do not react to the host clock in the plugin (I am probably missing something however!).
Can I also recommend adding the free 'Frozen Wasteland' modules, really nice bpm synced LFO modules among other things (which I believe is a real nightmare to set up on a modular normally!).
Keep up the good work, really enjoying it so far!

Oh, and before I forget also the 'ML' (Martin Lueders) modules are definitely worth adding. He is already a well respected VST developer (having made the great PG-8X vst clone of the JX-8P) so you know his modules for Rack are going to be top notch!
And finally (apologies about this!) it would be great to have the Trowasoft modules as these have OSC in and out (among other things). I have found a way (via Reaktor) of using an OSC out to get working MIDI out of Rack (otherwise currently impossible), really opening up the potential further of VCV, and the timing is so much tighter in the plugin than using it externally through the bridge.
As an aside, is it very complicated adding the additional modules to your plugin version, I would happily have a go myself if I knew how!

thanks for the info !KennyG5000 wrote:I have had it working in both Kore 2 and Cubase 5 (parameter host automation also working here)
I've written a lengthy post about this on GS.KennyG5000 wrote:there is a some strange behaviour with the plugin window (it seems to almost minimize when you hit play on the transport and needs to be closed and then re-opened
TL;DR: it seems difficult to fix / would probably require a lot of changes.
I'll take a look at this tomorrow, shouldn't be too difficult.KennyG5000 wrote:is it possible to get the DAW clock for synchronization with the loops in VeeSee? EDIT: you should also be able to send a note sequence from your sequencer to a Core.MIDI-1 module, then feed the resulting gate output to a Rack sequencer module. This way you can use the (DAW) sequencer to have more precise control over the timing / swing.
Since you asked so nicely (+they _do_ sound interesting!), I just ported the modules.KennyG5000 wrote:Can I also recommend [..]
Could you please let me know if the OSC module works as expected ?

Tried the VST effect version in studione 3.5 andcan´t work... the "inputs" from tthe core audio module are working (I can send a VCO and it sound thru the Studioone track where Veeseee is inserted, but the audio from the track can´t reach core audio "outputs" tried even bridging ins to outs
Tried in reaper (not my daw but for testing) and worked fone. Whata great work, it really opnen a new world for quick prrocessing tracks thru the VCV modules inside the DAW. Thanks!!
Also, some request:
-Arable&Parable instruments please!! I the parasite firmaware for the Clouds, and also a better interface having all parameters in dedicated knobs so great for automation all of them inside the DAW
-Aepelzens, also some parasites firmwares for warps and others
-NYSTHI, because those are wonderful modules!
Thanks again!!!!
