They are. Just like the synths of any other developer/company.
There are exceptions. U-he synths are quite diverse. Hive is nothing like Bazille. I mean they're not even in the same universe. And Repro-1? There is nothing in their arsenal that's even close. And then you have Zebra 2 which no other U-he synth can sound like due to all the modulation options.

So like I said, there are exceptions.

Anyway, not that my opinion matters but here are my Tone 2 synths from most to least favorite. I do not own Gladiator but know where it would fall on the list if I had it because I do know its sound.

1. Icarus
2. Electra 2
3. Saurus 2
4. Nemesis
5. Gladiator
6. Rayblaster

So I would recommend getting Icarus and Electra 2 on the 2 for 1 sale.

Well, I have spent all today with the demos and also my favourite synths for comparison. Not about which one is better than what I already have but what I'm missing.

I also took a deep look at the interface and finally played some music trying to see which of Tone2 synths are the most inspiring for me.

Well, I have decided on two and tomorrow mostly I'll buy them (I need to be sure from my sale of a synth license). Anyway, my choice is RayBlaster and Nemesis :D Those two inspired me the most and complete what I already have (NI, Korg, Dune2, Legend, Largo, LuSH, Europa and Softube Modular).
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

They all have their pros and cons, but the original ElectraX rapidly became my goto for most things, and the original Saurus my goto for the stuff I couldn't quite master in ElectraX.

G2, Nemesis, Icarus, Rayblaster and Firebird I use for other stuff, mainly experimental.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Best Service is offering 2 for 1 sale! You get 2 products for the price of 1
https://www.bestservice.com/index.html

However, it seems you cannot resell them...according to Tone2 resell policy. If that's case, you buy it cheap, but keep it!

Mac Mini M4 Pro | 14 Cores (10P/4E) | 48GB RAM | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Logic Pro | FL Studio | Cubase Pro | Waveform | Reaper | Renoise | ~1000 VSTs/AUs | ~350 REs

I want two Saurus licenses, so I can play an analog pad and a bass at the same time. It's also safer in case one unit breaks, I would have a spare unit until the broken one got repaired 8)

Just took advantage of the 2 for 1 sale at Best Service. Man. Can't beat that deal. After demoing everything I chose Icarus and electra2.
Happy camper here. :D

Thanks for the info :) I need to make sure that I will use, so they don't end with virtual dust covers them ;)

You can resell them. You "just" need to pay 24 € for the license transfer, AND the license becomes NFR. And, i realized myself that the resale value isn't exactly high, so, you lose a lot of money when you sell the license. All in all, i have to say that Tone2 are one of the companies which make sure the most that they get a lot of money out of their business. They also don't allow discounts at JRRShop, and their sales are often only for a day, and never 50% off.

Yes it's not easy or beneficial to sell them. I need another day to decide so the effect of GAS is minimum ;)

Ok I got them! Nemesis and RayBlaster! Not driven by GAS though (believe me! :hihi: ).

The process was done really quickly! No wait! After I register in Tone2 website I got the key files and already BestService provided the download (RayBlaster has a gift samples from BestService :D ). So, in short everything is fast and done in Chrome (my web browser).

I was reading in the manuals and experiencing in those two synths, but mostly with Nemesis (no specific reason, just by alphabetic order!). I really like those two synths the most of Tone2 ones. Maybe I will pick Gladiator next year or so, but Nemesis and RayBlaster are really so good especially if you are the Absynth like kind of weird sounds!

I didn't bother a lot with the presets, although they are fantastic, but the real strength of those two synths is playing alive with the knobs while playing. This will make you appreciate the new great syntheses implemented.

Ok enough now! I need to play around with my new synths! I need to make some tracks now ;)

I demo'd Electra2 today, still my favorite of the Tone2 synths. And the LP Butter, LP Tone2 filters, and the new fx's (especially the reverbs) really make great additions to it. Sound superb. Really great updates. I demo'd Icraus yesterday, but, quite frankly didn't like it as much as Electra2. It somehow has the edge over the others soundwise, IMO.

Think i'll get it on the next of their sales.
