These are, IMO, the best "dedicated" wavetable synths.
Serum
Icarus
Nave
Demo them and pick the one you like the best. I do not know of any free wavetable synths let alone any that are any good.

When somebody says Wavetable, the first thing that springs to mind is always PPG wave.
Its like a reflex, because i absolutely adore this machine.
And im not even talking about the enhanced V3 version, i mean the original PPG wave 2.3 based one.
IMO everyone should have this because its one of the all-time classics with a great character.
(Digital of course, but with analog VCF, which Waldorf did a very nice job on. All-time favorite.)

Ableton Wavetable is great! If you have Live of course. If not, Serum.

I still like Surge. A lot of different settings, and all the settings in one window. If you understand the logic, then it's very easy to work. A powerful synthesizer, although not updated for a long time.

I also just tried demo Dune 2 and Europa. In my opinion, Surge has more settings than Dune. And Europa is a very simple synthesizer, not impressed.

I also like z3ta. Also an old synthesizer, but flexible in the tuning. Surge and z3ta are my two favorites.

+1 .. Wavetable is more analog sounding than Serum, has more interesting stock wavetables, but Serum has more features (I.e. custom wavetables), bit better workflow, and is just plain easy to get into for your first wavetable synth. Not a buy you will ever regret.Biome_Digital wrote:Ableton Wavetable is great! If you have Live of course. If not, Serum.

Can you be more specific? Like what kind of music you want to use it for? Budget? Any additional preferences?pinbot wrote:Any of you guys know any good Wavetable Synths, paid or free, that I should look into? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are really so many wavetable/waveshape/wavequantum synths (the last one is my invention
My overall favourite is NI Massive. It is just sounds great with very pleasant GUI/Programming with tons of tutorials and resources.
I also love the sound of Dune 2 but not the workflow. Dune 2 sounds really great. I also love my Waldorf Largo. Europa is fantastic also Thorn (both use a spectral (harmonic) filter in addition to the traditional filter). There is also Icarus and Serum. The last one that I have (from updating Cubase to 9.5) is Flux which is small but powerful wavetable synth
I might not exaggerate if I say half of the new synths are wavetable synths
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Waldorf invented wave table, and are still the king of classical wave tables. Things have changed since then tho. Personally I like Dune2. You can make and upload your own wavetables, and Synapse is the king of oscillators. If you want today's popular sound though, Serum is what all the radio guys are using. I have always wanted to dig into MPOWERSYNTH and might still. It's astounding.

MPowerSynth is not a wavetablesynth in any sence of the word that I know of.
