Interesting to see even you have preferences among your offsprings
.
And with the exception of Rayblaster your 1-6 match mine.
Maybe time for me to consider upgrading Rayblaster 1 to 2.
Hopefully one day upgrades will have sales too

I didn't like Electra for 2 reasons:
1. Layers
2. GUI colour and light reflection.
I like a lot those three: RayBlaster, Nemesis and Gladiator because everything is mostly on one page and they have different sound engines and synthesis method.
Icarus is a very nice wavetable synth, but I have several great ones while I have tons of substractive synths, so I don't consider buying Saurus.
My preference is based on mapping some controllers then playing some melodies/chords and tweaking parameters. Also the non traditional synthesis used is very refreshing for my mind with very musical results and very low CPU usage

If you combine some plastic with some wood and metal, you get very interesting results

You're right, i agree that it feels awkward in operation because of it. Icarus is much more straight forward. I like the sound of Electra2 a bit more though. Nothing is perfect.EnGee wrote:I didn't like Electra for 2 reasons:

I doubt the 'plastic' similarity in the synths is due to the similar envelopes. When playing pads, for example, you don't hear any plastic, free from the plastic pollution

Don't use the extra layers and it is still a nice synth.EnGee wrote:I didn't like Electra for 2 reasons:

The only problem for me is the one insert-effect per layer.

It is a great synth but I felt I already have Dune 2 with similar workflow (layers). It also doesn't add something like Nemesis and RayBlaster do for my music.Examigan wrote:Don't use the extra layers and it is still a nice synth.EnGee wrote:I didn't like Electra for 2 reasons:

Anyway, I might buy the rest in the next discounts (I'm finito! no money left!). So the priorities in my sale buying is:
1. Nemesis and RayBlaster (done!)
2. Gladiator and Icarus (very possible in the next discount)
3. Electra and Saurus (not so sure, as I have other options in my synths that I like more)
But, for EDM, It would be the reverse I believe as Electra and Saurus complete each other very well and Icarus/Gladiator would be a great addition. But for atmospheric/industrial/experimental I think my list is ideal

I like all of them, but if I had to pick 2 for a sale, it would be Icarus and Gladiator, especially with version 3 incoming.

I checked out the tone 2 site and the sale prices there weren’t very enticing. What’s the best deal at the moment. I’ve never really gotten into tone 2 stuff after filterbank.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
