sounds great for what it does, but would you class that as an "all-round" reverb given it is so limited in terms of control?martinjuenke wrote:Subspace from Zynaptiq (free and easy)

meldaproduction's mturboreverbLE is also worth a look for a single plugin that covers a huge range of algo-reverb types (100 distinct reverb models - with multiple presets within each model).
I really like the huge space>hangar presets in that. As with all melda stuff, best to wait until it's part of their 50% sale for buying though.

the full mturboreverb with its advanced editing and create-your-own algorithm section is pretty mind-bending if that's your sort of thing.

All-round in the sense of every reverb situation / demand can be covered: no (take Breeze2)OneOfManyPauls wrote:sounds great for what it does, but would you class that as an "all-round" reverb given it is so limited in terms of control?martinjuenke wrote:Subspace from Zynaptiq (free and easy)
All-round in the sense of I need some reverb quickly and it doesn‘t need to be super specific, because all the subleties will be buried in the mix anyway: yes

Using reverbs in a mix is often about choosing a specific space for a specific instrument or to create a specific feeling... So versatility is key for all-around use (small/large rooms/halls/chambers, plates, digital, dense tails, modulations, character/clean, and sounds good on percussive sources too).
With that said, there are two I would recommend that I think are just absolute work-horses... 2Caudio Breeze 2 and Pro-R, but I still give the edge to Breeze 2 on results.
There's still plenty of reasons to add character reverbs, or reverbs that are either modeled after some famous gear or specialize in creating a certain sound, but for general use, I think 2Caudio did a great job of not just expanding on what was good in Aether, and Breeze 1, but listening to lots of user input and delivering something simple in use, light on CPU and great sounding in a variety of settings.
Reverb choice tends to be very personal, so this is obviously just another opinion.

Any other thoughts on Valhalla Vintage Verb vs Breeze 2?Vortifex wrote:Yeah, this is true. When I demoed Breeze 2 I did my best to match some of the presets with Valhalla Vintage Verb. I managed to get close enough that the purchase wouldn't be a justifiable expense for me. No-one's ever going to listen to the crap I make and think "Damn, this would be so much better if the echoey bits were ever-so-slightly different in a barely perceptible way"Zexila wrote:Guess by the time one approaches final mix, backing off all that cool reverb is a must and what you are left off isn't something that exciting anymore and most of the reverbs you got could do it without 90% of casual listeners even noticing much difference... So many quality reverbs out there, even stock DAW ones, so choice comes down to workflow, rather than some nuances in reverb tails which aren't even heard in majority of busy mixes.chk071 wrote:I saw quite a few production videos where the artists seem to be ALWAYS using one specific reverb, for everything.
Also how do they compare in terms of CPU and latency?

They're ALL good!!
Just choose a couple that give you all the colours that you might want, in a package that you find appealing to use.

That's just my opinion but I think they're not even in the same league. VVV is very good, there's no doubt about it, but Breeze 2 is top notch !DrMEM wrote:Any other thoughts on Valhalla Vintage Verb vs Breeze 2?

Please rename thread to a more correct title, "Could the denizens of KVR please list all the Reverb plugins that exist, post by post? Thanks!"
