Does GPO have disk streaming or does it have to be loaded into RAM?

I currently use a 500mhz laptop with 128mb ram running win98se. I know it is nowhere near the reccommended system specs.

Will I be able to do anything with GPO or will I have to wait until I get a new computer?

I currently work with some synths and mostly samples and soundfonts. Of course I have to bounce to audio a lot to do anything complex, so I am used to limitations.

What will I be able to do with GPO?

How many instruments might I be able to play at one time live in midi before needing to bounce to audio?

I'm trying to decide to get GPO or go with something like soundfont.com's orchestral strings and orchestral woodwinds and brass until I can upgrade my computer.

Any imput from users would be appreciated.

The next (free) update to GPO will have disk streaming. Should be released soon: beta testing it approaching the goal.

I don't think it will be free though.

Currently, GPO does NOT use disk streaming. I have used GPO successfully with a 800Mhz/384Mbyte computer and could load 13-14 instruments at 50% CPU load.

I think 128 Mbytes is not enough and even disk streaming will not help much because some RAM is needed to load to part of each sample.

Can you buy more RAM for your computer?

If you already have Kontakt (which has disk streaming), you can load GPO instruments into it. Works perfectly.
