I had 8 V9 plugins. 2 needed WUP.
I bought a V10 plugn second hand.
Not wanting any V9 / V10 drama , I paid for the WUP on the 2 plugins and updated everything to V10 on the 2 Waves site.
Installed the latest WC
Then......tried easy install from Waves Central. ....multiple fails.
Deleted everything waves and tried again....fail.
Tried to download the V10 offline installer for only the plugins I have, after 4 hrs of stalling on one flle at about 90% complete I GAVE UP.
The folder it created was 117mb.......after 4hrs

At this point , I have lost a day and a good bit of my mothly bandwidth.

All waves plugins are now broken.

I will solve this but I think I am done with future Waves I really like their plugins but this scares me for long term.

By the way. If anyone would like to purchase my entire account PM me. I am willing to discuss.

Hey bro, sorry hear of your frustrations. I'm no Waves Tech Expert, but I'll try to help the best I can.

I need to ask when installing V10 the first time around and you had multiple fails at it, could you please give me bit more information about what happened exactly??

Thanks for your reply.

The onlne installer would get about 80% then give me a ....Sorry installation failed...... msg.
Usually this happens with outdated WC. But I am up to date. I also removed anything Waves before attempting.

The Offline installer gets to about 90 % and simply stops downloading. Tried 3 times.....same result.

I did call Waves. They do have great support by the way. They looked at my PC and couldn't find any reason for the issue.

So...... I am going to try and down load the complete V10 offline installer using a download manager. Its 3 gb verses 300 mb but may work better.

I don't rule out my internet being part of the problem. Just a bit frustrated with a process that seems to way more comllicated tha need be.

Ill let you know how it goes.

Sometimes a utility like Ramdisk causes problems like this. USB drives plugged in have adverse effects on heavily secured anti piracy software like WC. Unplug all USB devices. Turn off virus scanners. Disable startup programs that are not necessary, like DVD player software or Nero stuff or special UI docking programs. Anything you don't need, disable it for now.

Try Revo to uninstallwe pro to completely remove uninstall remnants of Waves plugins and programming.
https://www.revouninstaller.com

Create a restore point. After it's done.

Make sure all redistributables are current. Install the 2015 MS Visual C Redistributable:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=48145

Choose either 64 or 32 bit. If you only have 32 bit system, that could be a problem. If it's 64 bit, install 64 bit redistributable.

Create another restore point.

Install WC. If you get another error on the WC, install the 32 bit then try again.

If error again. Update 2017 redistributable for missing packages.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... -downloads

Same thing with 64/32 bit version.

Create another restore point and then proceed to install the 2017 redistributable

Essentially, create a restore point before installing anything.

After install, try WC one time.

Last one, the 2013 redistributable.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.

You know about restore points. Do it before you install this.

If error...reformat the hard drive is Windows 7 or refresh OS if Windows 10. Either way, BACKUP EVERYTHING to an external drive. Use Macrium to image the drive to go back to THIS point.

That is all I have for now. PM me if you need to. I'll try to answer but I work today.

I know your trying to help....and thanks. But seriously, should anyone have to jump through these circuses in order to update and/or install software plugins.

They worked fine 3 days ago and have been updated previously throughout version 9.
I had read some of the difficulties of other and had intention of holding out on V10. But based on possitve history I moved forward.

Maybe it really is not meant to be for now.

I have had 2 different download managers fail trying to get the complete V10 offline installer after 1 gig or so. Saying that they lost contact with the server. I have never experienced that even downloading 30gig libraries over 2 months.

In the meantime, time and precious bandwith are wasted trying to be legit and deal with bloated DRM B.S. I know its the world we live in. I choose to be legit based on principal but there was a time when all of Waves stuff was freely available as warez and I am sure that hasn't changed so why do we continue to punish paying customers. Even when WC is at it best....demoing waves plugings installs all kinds of plugins that you don't want. Probably due to the waveshell B.S . Is there some advantage to shells for the customer? You cant do anything without the latest WC that is constantly updated using 200+mb each time.

Sorry just frustrated.......rant over.

I do like this @#$& and I will get it fixed.

Do I need to update all my plugins with WUP first before getting Waves Central version 10?

To be perfectly safe, yes. Otherwise it’s Israelian roulette.

Anyone else have this problem? I have a number of version 9.x Waves plugins that scan correctly.
Does Ableton Live support VST3?
The question is about FL Studio, not Ableton Live. Yes, FL Studio supports VST 3. The 9.x versions are working perfectly for jayrmac, it's the V 10 that is throwing errors. (source: the thread in the technical support forum on Image-Line.com)

In fact, using VST 3 in FL Studio is the recommended approach, as this ensures that the plugins are listed by name, rather than as waveshells.

So has anyone got V10 working with FL Studio 20?

Anyone know, What’s the cheapest way to update your WUP. I don’t want to pay more than the 29 I paid for each initially.

Depends how many you have. It’s capped at 225.

Remember you don’t need to upgrade from v9.

Just an update....

After downloading V10 offine installer I was able to get everything installed.

The good....
The offline installer is has all V10 plugins so if I were to get another in the future, I already have the nstaller.

The bad......
This process cost 50% of my monthly bandwidth. I use the internet for all communication and I am not the only one to consider.
Old projects seem to be broken. The V10 plugins were recognized by Reaper and load fine. However, when I load an existing project it says the waves plugins that were used are not available. NICE!!!!! No big deal for EQ and compression but quite catastrophic for Element 2 ( Which is my favorite vA syjth and used everywhere).

I know Reaper creates an ini file and Waves couldn't possible break backwards compatibles ( I hope).

So off to Reaper forums and more Waves support for answers.

The final post of my personal saga....I hope.

I was able to get my 9 V10 plugins working on past and present projects.

what I did....

Uninstalled everyhing waves. Went to all the typical paths and deleted all things Waves.
Reinstalled the newest waves central
downloaded V 10 offline installer with a download manager.
On wavs centrol I went to indall and chose offline...pointed to the folder etc.
This failed the first time. It started then froze for about 30 min.
I stopped it and repeated by deleying all things waves, reinstalling WC ......
The second time it installed in about 30 seconds.

I did the above twice. The frst time a few of the plugins didn't show up.

No idea what happened

My take aways.

Dont fool with the WC installer download the offline. Its bigger but if I decide to get another Waves product on the list I am most of the way there.

My internet is functunal but not for online installers.

Freeze any and all tracks on finished or archived projects....just in case. This protects you from say Element not loading as it was programed.

Remain patient. This time it served me.

That's what I did. I was considering purchasing some Arturia VST's, then searched and found out they were charging 199$us for an upgrade to their newest version which was about 50% of the original purchase price. No thanks ... no sale. It's smart to check the manufacturer BEFORE you purchase a plugin to see what their history is for support and upgrade pricing.

So ... Arturia and I have a happy agreement now ... they won't charge less than 50% for their upgrades .. and I won't ever buy one of their plugins. We're both happy. :) Well .. or at least I am.

When there was a minor update I had to "clear cache and rescan" before Reaper would correctly recall the setting for upgraded Waves plugins. Does that work for v9->v10 as well?

Post

i'm probably not going to buy too many more waves plugins. i'm basically a hobbyist and it'll cost me hundreds of dollars per version cycle just to keep the plugins i have now running. i can't afford to make that repeated cost any higher.

Dumb question, but do you have enough space on your drive??

Also, check your permissions. There could be files the installer is trying to replace, but can’t because of a dodgy permission

Can someone explain this to me?? I recently updated my windows. In my previous windows, I could download both v9 and v10 plugins, but now in my newer windows the waves center only shows download option for plugins that have v10 license, and doesn't let me download my plugins that have v9 license? Wth is this

EDIT: It's stuff like this that will keep me from buying any more waves plugins :bang:
