You get a WUP for a year. My WUP was out of date and with the new release, I felt the few extra bucks were worth it to avoid future compatibility issues with plugins that I like a lot. If you don't need that, i.e., you already have V10, then you're better off just getting the plugin and not the upgrade.J4R1O wrote:Still wondering...
"The Abbey Road Collection upgrade will add any current Abbey Road plugins missing in your account. This upgrade is only available to Waves Abbey Road plugin owners."
So you simply cannot upgrade to the actual Abbey Road Collection to bundle them all, instead you can only "upgrade" the latest AR plugin to your account... and next time new AR plugin is out you have to "upgrade" again. Why they even bother to call it an "upgrade"?
In my case that "upgrade" to get the Abbey Road Chambers sucks since it's more expensive to upgrade than purchase the actual plugin (in this case $34 vs $29). What do I get for paying that $5 more? A JPEG of the ARC package??
And still wondering... Is it possible to sell AR plugins separately or do you have to sell them all at once? Does the Abbey Road Collection even exist??
Yeah, I know it's Waves and the laws of logic doesn't exist in their universe of eternal WUPs and upgrades...

They exist with Nebula specifcally Cupwise libraries, they are quite excellent.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:This is a cool plugin. Those old school echo chambers have been absent from the plugin world as far as I know, so kudos to Waves on this one. Now get them into the Capital Records chambers! Based on the use of the word "captured" in the marketing materials, I'm assuming it's convolution for the reverb/microphones with some modeling sprinkled in for the EQ's and other items.

AFAIK this is due to licensing terms between Waves and AR, but that higher upgrade price is weird tho. Maybe drop sales support a message?J4R1O wrote:Still wondering...

How is it weird tho? All of the upgrade prices are like that, even if you have all of the plugins in the collection. When you upgrade, ALL of the plugins in the collection get wupgraded...I just made that up, you're welcome, so that's certainly worth a few bucks.krabbencutter wrote:AFAIK this is due to licensing terms between Waves and AR, but that higher upgrade price is weird tho. Just noticed that WUP for all my AR plugins has expired about three weeks ago, so if I pay $34 for another Abbey Road Collection upgrade to get the AR Chambers will it WUP all my AR plugins also?krabbencutter wrote:AFAIK this is due to licensing terms between Waves and AR, but that higher upgrade price is weird tho. Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

Don't forget to select ALL of them when you go for the upgrade price. I'm not sure that it matters, but it might.J4R1O wrote:Ok, great! That's what I wanted to know. Also, the 10% code works on the upgrade checkout.

BTW, the Waves keep punishing their clients.
After 1 h of different operations, I don't manage to get my Waves Central installing this plugin to my PC.
I have Waves ver. 10 plugins succesfully installed earler, but with this one I keep getting error note, time after time.
Waves has a long "troubleshoot" instructions, which list I have followed.
No use.
Its irony, that Waves "upgrade" very well working ver. 9 to the ver. 10, which do not include any advance to the client.
And this ver. 10 just causes hours of extra work and irritation.
There's no ratio in Waves moves.

@Harry_HH: Once I had problems with Waves Central (Mac) installing a new plugin. Latest Waves Central version did the trick.

As a long time Waves client (since 2003) I ALWAYS start my Waves troubleshooting by checking that I have the latest installer.Etienne1973 wrote:@Harry_HH: Once I had problems with Waves Central (Mac) installing a new plugin. Latest Waves Central version did the trick.
And in this case, as said, I have proceeded this and all the other 9 different operations, which are instructed by the Waves.
Its irony, that although the "upgrade" (ver. 10) was supposed to decrease the installation errors, the new troubleshooting check list is longer than ever.
BTW, after several re-bootings, I managed to get the Waves Central installation through (the installation of one plugin took 45 minutes to run, + the 3 h trials).
But although the plugin appeared to my DAW menu, I keep getting error notes when trying to open it. All the folders are kind-of-installed to their places, but the AR Chambers just wont open.
All my other Waves plugings work fine.
No doubt, when the time goes, I'll get this Waves plugin working, too.
But I start to think, the price may be too high for the new Waves plugins for me.
$ 25 is cheap, but 3+ h for the installation is too pricy...

Hmmm.
See here - Mixdown was not added to the CLA bundle:
https://www.waves.com/bundles/chris-lor ... ure-series
But Chambers has been added to the AR bundle:
https://www.waves.com/bundles/abbey-roa ... collection
So I'm assuming if you have the AR bundle and it's V10/within WUP, you get this Chambers for free?

"Waves Abbey Road Collection registers as single plugins in your account. This is normal due to our agreement with Abbey Road Studios. When additional Waves Abbey Road plugins are added to the line, you will have the option to add them at a special introductory price. You are welcome to purchase it separately for the current special intro price of $29, if you wish to own it.
Alternatively, you can upgrade to the current Abbey Road Collection (including Chambers) at the "Upgrade" section of your Waves account. This will not only add the Chambers, but one year of Waves Update Plan for your Abbey Road plugins."

Pretty sure you'll get plugins for free for life for coming up with that gem. You kind of put a smile on an otherwise unpleasant procedure, somewhat like deriving pleasure from a colonoscopy if that is possible.

OK. I just checked and it's $34 to upgrade from the Abbey Road Collection to Abbey Road Collection + Chambers.J4R1O wrote: "Waves Abbey Road Collection registers as single plugins in your account. Waves, u so farnny!
Next time someone says "yeah but it's so cool that you get new plugins for free when they're added to bundles that you have that are still within WUP" I'm gonna put 'em in their place.
