2 pages in and so far the following has been discussed:

-Bundle upgrades
-CPU consumption
-WUP (even though the OP politely asked not to)
-Waves V10 (ditto)
-Price
-Chamber IRs that aren't included
-Waves Central

Yet to be discussed:
-How the plugin sounds!

KVR, you never let me down.

*edit: make that 3 pages in with my post!*

Bought it and like it. I demoed it and thought for this price its a nice bargain. Didn't think at first it would get major play but the more I've used the more I go "well lets see how it sounds on this". Like Audiothing's Outer Space.
Put some real thick low end reverb/delay on vocal and drum busses. Very pleasant sounding.
Looks like you can really spend time tweaking and dialing different sounds in. The GUI is like crack.

To be able to discuss, how the plugin sounds, you need to get the plugin installed/working first. Its Waves fault we have to use our time in banalities, such as discussing the Waves Central. :dog:

Just in case one installs it and it doesn't show up. In Windows, go to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\WaveShells V10

and the respective location for Mac and you'll have a new WaveShell2-VST 10.0_x64.dll file. If you're using custom folders, just copy that new *.dll.

Sounds awesome. The STEED, for me, is the best part of this plugin. I like the sound of this reverb. It's definitely got a different flavor compared to AR Plates, and that one sounds good too. Here's an interesting setting I ended up with after tinkering around. Sounds like a megaphone with slight distortion in a hall. It likes its clock cycles, that's for sure.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Good to know it sounds good.

BTW, of course I copied the new Waveshell. However, the plugin wont open (it shows in the Live 9 vst menu, but gives an error note when clicking to open. (Win 10).

How power hungry is that? Can you describe that in terms of percentage of a CPU?

Looking at the videon I can not help feeling a little sad seeing those classic studios in decay. TIt is are a big part of out music history that is crumbling away as the tiles falls off the wall. Maybe it is worth getting this plugin to keep a part of the history virtually alive atleast. Really like the look of it.

What's the error specifically? Without that, there would be too many other variables that influence errors that I may not be able to account for. I guess Waves tech support is going to be your answer. Either that or Ableton.

So I don't leave you without some kind of suggestion. The most obvious...did you try to reboot after you installed and copied the dll file? Maybe try reinstalling the plugin? Perhaps use the repair module in Waves Central?

For now, I'm out of suggestions.

On a 7th Gen i7 @ ~4Ghz, at 256 buffers a change of +20%. At 512 buffers the change is +16%. It's definitely thinking. I like it. Since it's on a Send, I have to budget resources. This is purely subjective based on my current build (motherboard and address busses).

By the way...the Drive knob under steed...wow...that really adds a lush thickness to violins and keys. It sounds like it's actually smoothing harshness. So far...I'm impressed. For $23.84...it was a great deal for something that I don't have and didn't know I needed until I used it.

Yeah, I don't ecpect you to solve this. I have sent to the Waves support exact description including the screenshots.

I just wanted to rose this issue as an example if the misfortunate Waves policy. Ver. 10 update has no advantages to the user, jusr more work and trouble.

In short, in case of someone suffers for the same issue: I get an error note, when trying to launch the Chambers plugin after the installation. The error alert says, "cant find the plugin", although the plugin .dll plus all the other files/wavesshell are installed to the correct folders. All the other ver. 10 plugins work just fine. Didn't get any error note during the installation. But when I try to re-install the plugin, it wont go through the WC.

(Something else goes through the WC, with Waves...).

Abbey Roads Plates, already power hungry, consumes 5.2% CPU. AR Chambers shoots up to around 7.5% so for me, almost 50% more CPU than Plates.
A bit fried in the higher freqs

What CPU are you running?

Just saw the video introducing the plugin. Looks really cool. Ever since I read how they used an echo chamber at Motown studios to generate a reverb sound back in the 1960s, I wondered why this particular reverb sound (which sounds extremely nice) has been forgotten recently.

There are some impulse responses of echo chambers on the web to use with the IR-reverb of your choice, but sometimes it's nice to have a comprehensive plugin with a nice GUI and additional functionality to shape and influence the sound. eg, it's nice that you can position the microphones, add tape delay to the recording chain and use eq filters without much hassle. I could reproduce a similar signal chain with free impulse responses and plugins, but to have it all in one common interface is great.

Great. I have plates so now I know what to expect.

On my old Intel i5 3450, Chambers takes over 30% CPU. That's more than U-He Diva, which is known for being a power hungry beast.

I guess it's time to upgrade my PC :D
