I know it doesn't matter to the sound, and some criticize this concern with the looks, but I like it. Looks really nice :tu:

Hey Everett!

Thumbs up for the 3D Display...You're crazy man!

Forgive me, I don't want to be a pain in the a***, but I would like to come back to two things I have suggested a while ago:
1.) Add a Pan Module
2.) Add a Mixer+Pan Module

Use Case: I want to start with one oscilator but still be able to have two slightly different paths to left and right side. Therefore I would start for instance with 1 OSC, route it into two filters that are slightly setup deifferently and then route each filter into a pan module, turned completely right or left respectively...does this make any sence, would that be possible?

Peter, oh good, you're still around!

OK, I've been wanting to add the mixer module for a long time, I will make sure that goes into 2.16 (the release right after this one).

I'm planning on making it so you can set the volume and pan for individual output connections, as well as divert to master output.

Looks gorgeous!

Hi Everett,

I agree the 3D view looks cool and is a nice visualisation feature :)

Since the wave index knobs have 0.05 increments there appear to be 20 interpolated values between each of the 16 waves? If this is the case it would be great if these could be visible in the graph as well (maybe as an optional toggle)?

Cheers,

provoc

Excellent idea, the small graphs can probably only sustain 16 lines simply due to size, but the larger one could easily hold double the number from 16 to 32, so I will add that.

Also, just bumping the image so it stays on the same page.

Here's a video showing the new modulated 3D wave graph animation.

This feature will be released Friday in version 2.15.

Hey Peter,

I have been getting this done latley using the delay and turning the wet to 0 or delay to 0.Treating more like a mixer. It also gives some good control over mid side as well. AND!!!! the delay has filters for left right and center giving even more control.

Why thank you, ah you're just saying that 'cause... uh, it's true, hehe.

Everyone I started a dedicated Fathom thread on GS, so I can provide some support there:
https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-c ... st13437673

I'll be reading it every day like I do this thread, so spread the word.

Also, if anyone knows of any other popular soft synth forums let me know so I can expand the user base a little.

Yes. Audiofanzine:
https://en.audiofanzine.com/virtual-mod ... /fathom-2/
Once your profile created, get back to this page above, then open the forum (just above the two green button in the rightmost part) to create your first thread.
:D

You may also write to the managers (by the link in the foot of the page) to introduce yourself as the developer and suggest to create a full article, it is even better! (and it automatically launches a thread in the forum part).

Audiofanzine is a very active environment which was created eighteen years ago, with databases and forums as well as KVR, but Audiofanzine exists in six languages, each one being a totally different community depending the language. It was created in 2000 by a French musician, only in France, then around 2008 it has been spread in Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Japan... each one with its own independent audiofanzine. The database of instruments and plugins summarizes around 150.000 products today in 2018 and around 200.000 to 300.000 users around the world.

I'm now severely diseased since September 2018.

Not really a fan of GS's "Music Computers" forum. It's always felt like a total afterthought, in terms of providing a solid forum for Digital/Electronic music production.

You may not get any traction over there.

Is there an upgrade path for users of older 1.x.x versions? I haven't updated mine since around October of last year and it seems things have changed a lot since then.

Post

Your timing is amazing, I just released the latest version 2.15 a few minutes ago.
https://www.fathomsynth.com/updates

Fathom upgrades are always complete and self contained so you don't need a previous version necessarily installed. Just get the latest and it should be just what you need.

Massive amount of changes since your version, including New GUI with user choice of backgrounds, User color picker for all graph lines, Zero Delay Filters, 3D animated graphs for the wave table oscillator, Settings page with precise CPU control. See the video at the top of the thread. 2.15 also has critical Reaper fixes.

OK everyone, Fathom Friday is now on, get this $135.00 modular beast for $12.00  , for 24 hours only.
