So for every srx board Roland releases a new instrument .
Why not sell it as an expansion for the jv1080 vst , so you can mix the waveforms from the different expansions ., and this is what it was all about in the first place
Greedy bastards .

Srx 7 : DCB /digital circuit behaviour ...while the srx boards are just Rom boards , Oh Roland , I love your marketing

Anyway , If I dind't already have an integra , I think the srx7 plugin is the one to get , since it's contains all waveforms of the vinstage synth board srjv-04.

Yeah, I definitely would have preferred them making the cards part of the JV1080 plugin, but whatever haha. I'm honestly just happy these sounds are finally being made available to all. The quality of these plugins are just as rich as u-he Diva or the best sounding soft-synths to date. It's absolutely worth it.

And honestly, I hope they'll just get rid of the "Flavr" series and "Anthology" series as well. It's really the instrument plugins that I'm interested and it really feels like a distraction. I mean, the SRX Orchestra came out in the winter and we're only now just getting another expansion board :/.

In more positive news, I asked on facebook if the eventual JD990 plugin could have the Vintage Synth card onboard because there were a series of patches on that card made especially for the JD and they would get it down. I imagine that they'll only pull the presets and waveforms made for the JD and then make the entire Vintage Board it's own separate plugin like they've done so far.

Crossing my fingers that the JD will be released before the year is up :phones:

Just started playing with the new SRX Keyboards plugin and am really happy with this so far. :)

I had the SRX-07 Ultimate Keys expansion when i owned a XV-3080 back in 2005 and at the same time also had the SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth Expansion in my JV-90 keyboard (which is alos part of the SRX-07 and the new SRX Keyboards plugin).

Great to have that Vintage Synths expansion available as a plugin now. This seems to be a kind of "hoily grail" along those Roland expansion boards and it was indeed great when i had used it in those hardware synths.

As it was discussed earlier the synth engine of the JV-1080 plugin is almost identiacal to the XV-5080 (with the included FXs being from the Fantom X) so it is really powerful for doing you own sounds from scratch.

As all of the waveforms of the JV-1080 plugin are included with both SRX based plugins those are superior in terms of included samples/Waveforms. The waveforms of the new "SRX Keyboards" plugin overall might be much more useful than those of the "SRX Orchestra" plugin were which of course also depends on which sounds and/or samples you need.

Makes you wonder why Roland still sells the jv1080 vst , since the new srx7based plugin features the same rom + srx7 rom .
Is there any difference in editing , any corners cut , same effects , filters etc ...iow same pcm engine as jv1080 vst ?

Yeah disregard installing Concerto player, in tray you will see the icon for Roland Cloud Manager, right click it, then choose "My Instruments". You can install stuff from there.

I just installed system 8 and srx7 ,
For system 8 it didn't even ask me for an install directory .
I loathe these kind of install programs

It does have an option for where the VST2 plugin is supposed to go, there's a button right in the installer... You missed it.

The only difference of the two SRX plugins compared to the JV-1080 plugin is the additional samples of the expansion boards.

The JV-1080 plugin has a single bank of samples (with the 1083 waveforms/samples of the XV-5080 hardware module) while in the SRX plugins you could select the "SRX" samples within the "Wave Group" drop-down menu at the "Patch WG" edit page in the plugin. The "Standard" sample set available in the Wave Group drop-down menu is that from the JV-1080 plugin. The JV-1080 plugin does not have a "Wave Group" selection at the Patch WG page.

A few days ago as I wanted to update the Roland Cloud I had something similar.
At one point SRX Orchestra 1.05 was installed but SRX Orchestra 1.03 was still there and the app tried to synchronize it without success.
There was a kind of loop and after hours nothing happened, the app was still trying to sync.

I could get rid of this after completely deinstalling all the instrument as well as the app itself and installing the whole thing again.
It took quite long but now it is working.
Installing the new SRX Keyboards was also succesfull.

I can help! Had the same problem with the last round of updates and contacted Roland support. Got stuck on the SRX Orchestra update and it just wouldn't go. Here's what fixed it.

1. Sign out of Roland Cloud Manager (click the Cloud Manager icon -> Gear icon for settings -> Account -> Sign Out)
2. Exit Cloud Manager
3. Manually restart Cloud Manager
4. Sign back in to Roland Cloud Manager
