A step further

Hi folks,

I currently have an inner conflict about what I really want and I hope you guys can help me to dispel my doubts.

Ive got some money on the bank and have to decide if I travel for a week or finally buy myself some equipment. Please dont laugh but I currently use some cheap logitech speakers which I think I learned to use. But I know that I will never be able to get a really good mix.

What I looked up is a pair of Focal Alpha 65 which sound really nice to me and an Audient id14. I do not know anything about room treatment which will be necessary.

Maybe you guys can give me an idea about what I can do first. Because of my limited space I had to position my desk in a corner.

I can place the speakers about 15-20cm far away from the rear wall. To the left is enough space (about 2m) but to the right I have about 30-40cm. The wall behind me is about 5 meters away.

What I thought about are pads to decouple the speakers and have a slight angle to the ground so the waves do not directly hit the wall behind me. Is it necessary to place diffusors behind the speakers? What shall I do with the corner?
