Is there still such a thing like instrumentalist snobbery around?

Anything about MUSIC but doesn't fit into the forums above.

Which would be hard to achieve unless that 3% is actually in Europe, right? Which means by extension parts of Turkey must be in Europe.

We don't get to rewrite facts just because they don't fit our narrative. It's not "fake news" that Turkey is in Europe. It's geography.
Sorry, but Turkey is an Asian country, just like Israel, Saudi-Arabia, Iran etc.

This "is Turkey in Europe?" off topic theme is really a charmer. Man, you will never get over this one, will you? Now here is the solution: It has been debated for decades whether Turkey could be a member of the European Union, and not because of geography, but due to issues like economy and respect for human rights.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accession ... pean_Union

Thus, Turkey is geographically a part of Europe, period. Does that help?

Post

yeah, geographically. at least partially.
european union, nope.

the real question is do duduk players look down on penny whistlers?

No, it does not help because geographically it is not part of Europe. Sure, a small corner is, but that doesn't mean the whole country is. Even Istanbul is split into a European and an Asian part, nor is Istanbul the capital of Turkey.

I don't really care either way, frankly, but I can't change geography. Let alone culture, with Islam being a major non-European trait. Polls among Europeans have repeatedly shown that the majority do not want Turkey in the EU for all kinds of reasons. Some sort of partnership is ok, though.

Nay but from the link above
Turkey was one of the first countries to become a member of the Council of Europe in 1949

Don't know, but I would. Penny whistlers are poor people and thus A-holes by definition.

Yeah as long as they keep the rivers of refugees away from the first world, so we can cry about our broken nails and other first world problems without getting distracted by people dying from starvation.

i cannot understand why we are not allowed to hunt them.
it would entertain our children, when they weren't busy beating the staff and taking advantage of their busty barmaid daughters in the tavern.

Youre referring to Paupers, quite different to poor people

Sure, the EU is an egoistic prick, no secret there...

Then again, nor is Turkey interested in the EU because they liked Europeans so much, in fact most Turks are not exactly fond of the EU. It is mostly an economic interest...
