How Long Does Other DAWs Take To Save 20,000 Midi Items?

seriously, 28+ hours later you have nothing better to do than try and make this about you? It isn't and it wont be

Is Koan Pro free? If so, please, where can I download that? I'll Google it later maybe.
I can't afford to just buy stuff. And it's okay because I'm pretty happy making use of freeware.
But I will buy REAPER 6.0 for sure, and maybe GNMidi, but that's it for me. I did download GNMidi. It's got a 14-day trial. I will install it as soon as my REAPER 60-day trial ends exactly 12 days from now.
What can Liquid Rhythm and Koan Pro (if it isn't free) do that free randomizers can't do? I tried finding out.
I downloaded Liquid Rhythm because I later found out I was wrong about it being built only for Ableton Live. It turns out it can work in REAPER too. But after the installation, the darn thing wanted me to connect to the internet to download a serial number or something. I never connect my offline computer to the internet. And my online computer is too weak to run most modern software. It's barely running Firefox version 40.0.2.
Yup, I think I'm just going to stick to freeware. Less hassle and there's pride in getting things done with freeware. REAPER has excellent randomizers anyways, made by generous scriptwriters and programmers... for free. But, thank you guys and gals for the suggestions.
Any freeware suggestions relating to randomizers? I probably have all of them already anyways. But hey, it's nice to be surprised.

For anybody that may find it useful, here are the drum midi velocity averages for a song by the Beatles. Birthday, from the White Album:
Kick =80
Snare = 110
Closed Hi-Hat = 115
Opened Hi-hat =120
I guess that's better than having all midi velocity at 100.
Holey moley, the kick is the quietest! How abnormal is that these days?
Aaarrgghhh, I have yet to test Evil Dragon's method of saving 20,000 midi items, I think I'll do that now, well after I make the edits using Ringo Starr's Birthday midi velocities. And after I find another free macro recorder/player to replace the not-working-quite-right-anymore Pulover Macro Creator. Okay, be back later then, maybe.
Kick =80
Snare = 110
Closed Hi-Hat = 115
Opened Hi-hat =120

Those values are completely wrong and meaningless. Ringo Starr is analog, not digital. Besides that, do you know what "dynamic range" means? And "ghost strokes"?harryupbabble wrote:For anybody that may find it useful, here are the drum midi velocity averages for a song by the Beatles. Birthday, from the White Album:

It might not be completely right but It's not completely wrong. It depends on the transcriber. The one that transcribed that Beatles song is pretty good, to my ears, well compared to other transcribers at least.JoseC. wrote:Those values are completely wrong and meaningless. As stated before, it's a lot better than keeping all the midi velocities at 100. Plus, if I ever create a song that is good enough, and if I could afford it, I won't leave it in REAPER project form. I will hire real musicians to play it and my drum track will just be to give the hired drummer a rough idea of what I want it to sound like.
Okay I found a macro recorder to replace the malfunctioning Pulover Macro Creator. It's called Tiny Task, another seeming freeware gem.
I'm now off to try Evil Dragon's method using Tiny Task to simulate a lua script. I was too dizzy last night to do it. Okay be back in a couple of hours, depending on how well Evil Dragon's method shrinks the 5.5 hours waiting time, that is. Okay ciao bellas and bellows.

Indeed. Everyone knows that back then you had to measure drummers with CV/gate. Any fool know that the Beatles average around 4V. "The Fab 4", its in the name, ferforksache.thecontrolcentre wrote:This is totally meaningless ...harryupbabble wrote:For anybody that may find it useful, here are the drum midi velocity averages for a song by the Beatles. An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

I've got a knife stuck in my leg that I like to drive back in from time to time just to take some of the pain away. You can pull it out and stab yourself if you like. I find it helps.IncarnateX wrote:Ahh, Troll-land thread. And I must agree with you guys, it is vey hard NOT to click on it and enter with a bag full of troll-food. I wish that my projects only contained 20,000 midi files. Typically I have over 48,000 in mine.

again I have to step in, I'm sorry but I dont see this as a trolling thing at all, he has something he feels is relevant, it's not offensive, he's not hurting anyone so why? Sure, offering suggestions and correcting errs in ones workflow is beneficial to all, but attacking someone's intelligence or labeling them a troll lends nothing to the conversation and it's likely such future comments will just disappear, so please spare me the effort
