Do you think we will we see a Glue HD upgrade to the version in Ableton or given the amount of work put into it will this be a separate release only ? (or are you not allowed to say either way!)
Love the existing version that comes bundled with the DAW, though have since switched to MJUC as my mixbus compressor due to the stunning 3 character models (it retaining zero latency is cracking too), but sure could be tempted in an upgrade to Glue HD ....

Thanks for your question, I’ve been pondering the best way to approach this and have come to the conclusion that I’ll keep all HD (high definition) algorithms exclusive to Cytomic plugins and not license them to any third parties. So The Glue HD will not be licensed to Ableton.mcbpete wrote:Do you think we will we see a Glue HD upgrade to the version in Ableton or given the amount of work put into it will this be a separate release only ? This will hopefully be an easy point of difference for customers to understand and be motivation for people wanting extra quality to purchase the plugin version. Emma and I have also decided that The Glue HD mode will be a free update to all existing customers, and will will be released as part of The Glue version 2

That's a really good idea. It's a great incentive to spend some money for the premium quality.andy-cytomic wrote:I’ve been pondering the best eay to approach this and have come to the conclusion that I’ll keep all HD (high definition) algorithms exclusive to Cytomic plugins and not license them to any third parties. There will be two modes - medium and high definition. Medium will not be the same as Glue 1, but improved. And Glue 2 plug-in users get HD on top of that, Live users don't. They probably get MD, or not even that.andy-cytomic wrote:R&D is going great on both a lower CPU "MD" mode (the exact same as the current solver but fixed and hopefully lower cpu usage) and the full HD mode.

The Glue 2 will be the current version of The Glue with a few things added, but enough so I think it's worth a full version number update. You will be able to load current presets and get the same sounds, but internally I'll switch over to using a fixed cpu DK-method solver, which should help reduce cpu usage for your current projects - this is called MD mode. I'll also add an HD mode, which will have increased cpu load with lots more detail and non-linearities in the model, and a dual mono to stereo variable link control.nilhartman wrote:I'm really curious to hear how HD mode will alter The Glue's overall behavior. Really looking forward to running audio through this HD mode.

Stam Audio (insanely great products if you can live with missed deadlines) has an SSL clone coming out with the option to add optional API-style 2520 op-amps or Neve style transformers to the signal path. Not sure if that kind of thing is of any interest to you, but it might be another nice value-add to do something similar.
