All,
After my upgrade to ST2 - I kept my ST1 sounds intact on my drive and continue to load them when ST2 is in use.
My questions are - is there anything special about the ST1 soundset that is not covered in ST2? Or should I just blow out the ST1 folder and go with all ST 2 sounds?
Also - occasionally I get some strange visual displays with ST2 with these duplicate sets in use. Most often it's usually an Acoustic drum kit that comes from the ST2 soundset...after loading the kit into a project and working with it for a bit - if I go to edit a parameter on the kit - ST will suddenly start to reference the ST1 version of the kit in the sound selection tree - if it is present. Most of the time - I simply switch back to the ST2 version but it is irritating.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Cuzin B
Any point to keep ST1 AND ST2 sounds in use?

There might be some benefits particularly if you have it in different places (each one browsing to a different place on your HDs). But, on the other hand, I don't have any trace of ST1 for my own musical use. I'd go with ST2 fully unless you have old tracks you want to call up with ST1.
I think this is up to each person really. But, if you have the same sounds duplicated with the same name in the same spot that ST2 is browsing that is not good for its databasing. Better to keep them separate at least.
