How do i set up Toolchain in Podium Free ?

Since Toolchain works like an effect, how do i send midi to it ? I assume making a midi track and then assign it to the track Toolchain is in would be what i had to do but I cant seem to find out how i make a midi track.

if you open podium,
are on the right side the device list where all plugins are listed, right click on toolchain click on Properties check box "device is an intrument" and you are done.
and for using toolchain as Fx make a copy without check this box.
