You get the same thing with both - The file is encrypted and you'll get the decryption key on registration. Mr. FathomSynth just has a list of who bought it when, so if you buy the $2.50 version and never bought it in the first place then ... not sure what'll happen but guessing he'll just mention you've been a naughty boy and not give you the decryption key!

yes, if you don't want to have them as soon as they are released.
if not, you pay 2.5$ to support the dev and get them straight away

Updates for Pro are free, or $2.50 if you wish to contribute (voluntary). But you must have the password from the full version to do either. The developer requests that you please consider paying for a few updates a year, depending how how useful you find the synth.

Apratim, yes the advice above is good.

The full price of $35.00 includes Fathom Pro plus the unzip password included in the purchase email. The pro version itself does not require a password to unzip because obviously you just payed for it.

The $2.50 upgrade also includes the Pro version, but requires a password to unzip, the assumption being that you have purchased the pro version first before buying the upgrades.

The free upgrade is exactly the same as the paid upgrade (pro version). The only difference is that most often the paid upgrade is available a week or two before the same free version. Sometimes both versions come out at the same time if it is a bug fix release.

As they pointed out, the paid upgrade is totally voluntary, and there is no shame in downloading the free version, provided of course that you bought the pro version first.

The reason I put the paid upgrade online is because so many people asked for a way to support additional features for the project. Interestingly, once the paid upgrade was available my stats have shown that almost everyone is actually buying the upgrade. Probably because there are usually major new features in each release.

Yes it has a wave table. You can use it to modulate any wave sequence you want.
