Any other apps or plugins that can play .ytil from Galaxy-X?

Best Service Engine is the one you want for Galaxy X - it's actually a newer version of Independence than the one Magix provides.
But, if you've got Galaxy X, I'm not sure why you haven't got Engine.

I DO have Engine, sorry, should have mentioned that; I was just wondering about some simpler, faster, easier to see way of auditioning all the riches in the Galaxy Layers folders, besides the Galaxy interface itself. Don’t suppose there's a way to do that in Engine…?

I have Chicken Systems Translator 6 and found out this:
Independence: All Independence .ytil files are encrypted and cannot be read, but the Chicken Systems conversion engine can create them and show their mappings and audition their samples. The exception is .ytil files that reference samples in the large .ytif images.

Hmm—yes, saw that, too, thanks. Translator would certainly be a good way to get more stuff INTO Galaxy; the import options already there are not very friendly. But it IS definitely an interesting place to mess with sounds…
I guess I have a default impulse to try everything inside everything else;) And just want to drag 'em, not record 'em! But that's an OK option.
