Cypher (DCAM: Synth Squad) Cypher2

Post

Great stuff - congrats FX dudes.

A single instance in Reaper uses 2.5 GB of RAM (mostly for the UI) and the interface gets calculated even when shut down. Is this a video game or a music application?

It's a CPU hog as well.

Such is life.

Cypher2 Upgrade (from DCAM Synth Squad) Offer ? $99 $79
Cypher2 Upgrade (from Strobe2) Offer ? $99 $79
Cypher2 Player Upgrade Offer ? $199 $79

Any idea which one I'm supposed to grab?
That’s a really difficult question :D

The pop-ups show up too quickly. Please fix that, it's annoying.

Slow loading times on start, like sloooooooow. Because of the vector shit.

Forget about playing several instances in real time AND tweaking them now this now that. I have an i7-2760QM processor on a Thinkpad W520 which should be powerful, in principle. Not in this case.

:hyper:

And - this DCAM love will inform my purchase of Strobe 2.

I'm even seriously thinking about a Roli keyboard now once I get more space. Exciting stuff!

I've got some pretty bad news guys. Cypher2 ain't real. I'm going to wake up soon and it's gonna... woosh, get back from where it belongs !

I just finished browsing the presets. Simply mindblowing.

I've never been a fan of DCAM Squad or this kind of stuff. This synth simply can't be compared. The presets show some true refinement, they are classy, not hyped. You won't hear the boring presets you hear everywhere. The presets aren't here to impress with tons of useless layers, they are simple and clean. The sound is fresh and intemporal, and the synth can do everything.

Mindblowing.

I guess the crossgrade offers + Seaboard/BLOCK ownership discount is the only way to get this one discounted now, or? No discount codes being sent out?

I get the same - pity they don't add up

Can't seem to find this mythical Cypher 2 player version though

I'm very happy to see that as an owner of Strobe2, I will only have to pay 79 bucks for Cypher2. Awesome!

Could just be excitement-based hyperbole talking here, but this genuinely seems like a bit of a breakthrough in terms of playability and "sound design by performance". And if not a breakthrough then it's definitely setting the bar to a very high level.

I don't own an MPE device but I do play a wind controller along with a couple of foot switches/controllers... This could be a very good synth for that setup.

Great work!

Going by OP it looks to be quite a bit more capable (and complex?) in Cypher 2, that SOS article is 8 years old, but it appears to be the same fundamental principles.
