Legend has it that you own a copy of Windows 10, but you won't install it unless someone can convince you that Microsoft is still a real company :P :P   :D :D   :P :P
   HaHa! zinger, and a good one. But it may not be quite accurate to compare FXpansion, a small audio application company, to Microsoft, a large OS company. :hihi:

Seriously though, new Ryzen systems need W10.

Basically, getting a new computer is gonna mean a modern OS. Well, Cypher 2 needs a High Res screen, and then a good graphics card with up-to-date drivers. And how long until good graphics cards with up-to-date drivers will only run on W10?

In the other thread I guess I was simply questioning where FXpansion was as a company, and now we see that they have just stopped supporting a bunch of stuff. It would be great to have next generation versions of these products...maybe that is what they are doing. That would be cool, man.
It was a joke, so not really worth the clarification

Also, personally, I'm a more move-with-the-times guy when it comes to OS's. I am never more than one iteration behind in Osx (Currently, even thinking of jumping on the current Beta), and use Windows 10 for my Bootcamp needs :tu:

I do, however, share frustration regarding the stopping of support for all of FXP's effects, in one fell swoop. It's like Roli decided that Fxpansion is no longer an fx company, and now we've all gotta take a running jump

As a goodwill gesture, FXP should put all the discontinued stuff on sale for $40 each, with no expectation of further support. ;)

Well, I played with the demo and decided that, with my crossgrade discount and all the included presets, it was a good deal and I could get enough use out of it to justify buying it. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the basic sound quality; seemed to lack balls and low-end oomph. Which surprised me, since Strobe 1 had plenty of both. (Not the same synth, but in the same family.) I do however really like the bell presets.
A well-behaved signature.

Sure, and a good one  ...dunno if I was clarifying, just wanted to continue commenting on the whole move to Windows 10, and more and more scalable type GUI's.

Be cool if FXpansion came in and gave us some wholesome ''clarification''. :hihi: :) :hihi: :)

Oh that sucks, I have all of them apart from the mastering ones, was hoping for updates.

I only have 'etch'. I think it's a great filter, and am fine with it's current feature-set. The only thing I would ask is that they maintain OS compatibility, which is a very real concern with Apple/Logic :(

Since they are discontinued, you can't really 'ask' anything.

Of course I can. Both Fxpansion and parent company (Roli) still exist, and I'm sure the code still exists for users to re-download, so I would be free to ask anything.

Decided to treat myself to this today and have a play on my rise but what a struggle to buy it, kept crashing when trying to buy with errors about the paypal server not being found etc. - perhaps they are overloaded with demand!

You are free to ask, but, when something is discontinued, they won't change anything about it anymore. But, yes, you are free to ask anything. ;)

I'm not sure if I understand 100%. I have Bloom and can still download it from my account.
