Cypher (DCAM: Synth Squad) Cypher2

Waves is the perfect example of showing how this can work. They have the pro in mind. I can load very old DAW (e.g. 10-15 years old) projects and Waves plug ins load fine with their settings. They leave the old versions as they are and adapt them to modern OS. They even modernize them sometimes with full compatibility and to load settings more than 20 years old! See L1 as one example.

Welcome top KVR
I have SynthQuad DCAM, Geist 2 and Bloom. I was highly interested in Cypher 2, but now I'm miffed to learn they abondon software like Bloom, in which I have put significant work time.

Of course I can. Both Fxpansion and parent company (Roli) still exist, and I'm sure the code still exists for users to re-download, so I would be free to ask anything.
No you can't.
:idiot:
No you can't. It's a discontinued product. You're the idiot.
Perhaps English is not your first language. To be clear: I can absolutely ask Roli, Fxpansion, or anyone else I feel like, absolutely ANYTHING...discontinued or not. If your contention is that they will refuse to do anything, then say that.

Even then, it's not out of the realms of possibility that developers could change their minds, whether I think they would or not. Bigger policy turnarounds have happened, in response to customer feedback/petition

Either way, my initial comment was both hypothetical and rhetorical. I had no intention of asking them. I was responding to someone who was hoping for feature updates with a turn of phrase that expresses that I don't even need that; rather, it would be great to just have them remain working.
No, you cannot ask ANYTHING. There are limits defined by law, practice and common sense, within which a request can be considered legitimate. Go out of these limits, and your behaviour WILL be recognized as trolling, breaking the law, or acting crazy. And will NOT achieve what you want but MAY put you in trouble. Which is very different from your desired end result. In effect, you will be defeating yourself.

Oh, and please spare me the insults, because I'm smart, and you are not.

Since when is contacting a company's support illegal? Of course you can ask, and they're just going to tell you no, they're not going to update them because they're no longer supported.

Another drama thread? :D
I wonder how much drama will be here if desktop OS „catch up“ to the mobile where support of apps might be just a few years back and the same with hardware.
Can be bad but also maybe better for developers sometimes.
If you use old hard- and software you should do the same with plug-ins.
As annoying it might be it won‘t change and will be for sure even faster outdated in the future.
Oh, drama of modern life.

Which you know for certain before even asking. So why would you do that?

Come on, guys, is the bar really THAT low? :dog:

I'm a little sad b/c I have Bloom. But who knows if enough license owners of FXpansion legacy products send mails? Also if enough people show interest in effect plugins from FXpansion it's possible that we get new effect plugins and upgrade offers.

It's an invitation: http://support.roli.com/request

That memory hog thing is a bit crap. What were the beta testers doing to miss such a huge bug?

Be careful! If you say it again, you'll evoke Beetlejuice and we'll all be dancing to the Banana-Boat Song :scared:

If you want to have a discussion about the consequences of actions, I'm sure you can find some other equally intelligent people to have that discussion with. However, I've already tried to tell you that I had no initial intention of actually asking anything (That comprehension thing, again)

Of course, none of this changes the fact that, regardless of consequences, I am actually free to ASK ANYTHING I want.

In asking me to spare you the insults you try to insult my intelligence. Truly, yours is an intellect I am too dumb to follow. A lucky escape for me, no doubt :tu:

I got the same memory leak issue in Bitwig that others are talking about.

Remember that plugins in Bitwig get their own thread.
A well-behaved signature.
