I run an overclocked I7-7700k with 32 GB of ram so I personally never noticed it and had no need to check my CPU stats, even with several instances.
Another factor for me is that I didn't really browse the presets while I was testing, I did 80% of my tests starting from the init patch.

Remember when this thread was about Cypher 2?

Couple observations. One, if you're thinking about downloading the demo, be aware that you're not limited to just 30 minutes. You can close the synth and reopen it for another 30 minutes.

Slowly working my way through the patches and my first impression is that the 5D woodwind patches are awesome. (2D vox, not so much.)

You're right Bandaid, 5d presets are on the next level.
This synth is just awesome, the transmog system with the voices / unison mod are fantastiq, with the fm & rm capacity, it's truly unique, the math module is useful too.
The best release of this year for me.
I didn't test in depth the sequencer, but it seams really interesting too.

I agree, great product. The sequencer is confusing me as well, but I can tell it’s deep. Will need to consult the manual on this one.

Good! Glad we're discussing the synth's features and sound again.

Anybody else have an opinion about the fundamental sound? Anybody else find it a bit thin? And does anybody else think maybe it's more that way that Cypher 1 (could just be my imagination, admittedly)?
A well-behaved signature.

Yes, once I got past my purcvhase problems and install problems (Cubase blacklisted it) I went through the 5D presets and there are soem excellent ones in there, they have really used all of the 5D controls in each patch. The lift is especially good, often it is missing in other MPE synths but here it is used to the full and the descriptions with each sound are great. But I am only up to LD, still a lot to check out )

Woah, I just see now the sequence can be mod , crazy !
We can remap the lfo, env.... with some mpe curves.

The unison engine offers 32 × 3 osc, × 2 filters ×2 shapers before after , × 3 env......like , let say Falcon, but with the transmod system it's really more easy to managed all that power. I m a synthsquad user but this update just brings the possibility up and up!

Btw for those who think Cypher 2 and Strobe 2 lost their Mojo once Andrew wasn't there anymore, try this.
Choose the Legacy option and load the same patch (non Arp ones, they will never match) in Cypher/Cypher2 and Strobe/Strobe 2...They most likely will need some tweaking especially slight volume increases in Cypher 2 and Strobe 2, maybe some more drive in some case, etc.
Can you really tell the differences in mojo blindfolded?

With the Roli Rise support this thing is a whole new kind of beast.

Congrats on the final release FXpansion!

Cypher2 Is pretty great for ambient texture sounds, it's definitely one of my favourites to work with now.

Any acknowledgement on the memory leak yet? The synth sounds great and looks fun aside from that current issue.

I think the strings patches sounds amazing, some of the best analog strings I have heard from a VST.

Too me the basic oscillator and filter sound realy good, first thing I always do; go to initialised patch and just listen to 1 oscillator through a basic 24db filter sweeps...get it to quack and howl...this (to me) sounds as good as most of the top VAs.

The architecture is deep, more like a modular synth than a standard VA, those maths functions look scarey but the ramps and sequencer modulation parts give a lot of options without going there....
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

.....................I'm taking a few days out to recharge so won't be around to reply here (probably), but a few of our support crew and maybe some of the sound designers and beta testers are keeping an eye on the thread & will try to answer any Q's.

All the best,

Angus H.
It will be addressed once the developer is back at work.
