I would've loved to give this a go... but the interface is tiny!

Looks like a great synth other than that. Best of luck to all competitors.

I didn't think I'd make something, but I ended up doing so anyway. What an interesting synth, a lot of possibilities here.

Hi all. Long time lurker, first time poster (and first time taking part in OSCs!)
This was really a challenge, as I don't dig too much Crystal's interface, but it is a very good and capable synth indeed.

Welcome to the OSC :)
Your track sounds good on a first quick listen :tu:

I think I've learned a lesson from last time. I decided to take this in a different direction, improv-ing my music instead of composing it. This was so much fun; I hope I can make time during school to do more of these.

Hello and welcome to the new OSC'ers,

Got some advice and have added some bits and pieces and dropped the bass a touch, so this is my new submission and possibly/maybe my last update, new DRM of 10 , will leave the other one up for a while, just for laughs :D

Hopefully this one is a bit better than my previous effort :)

Quick question, does anyone experience total sound decimation with high poly and longer release times?

I am finding the my chord patches play for a short while and then start to degrade as if there were some internal bitcrusher at work in this thing. It's a cool effect and I might try to use it 8) but was curious if others had found this.

For some reason, altering the sample rate of the project can remove/alleviate this :-?

I don't know if you have figured this out yet?
There is a granularity setting in modulations, could this be a cause, haven't really gone for long release in crystal! and I would as you say, see it as a quirk to get weird stuff from :D

Time to stop neglecting my kids and make the decision to be done with this...

A simpler four-on-the-floor type of track this time around, focused a lot on mixing and trying out some plugins I hadn't used or seen before. I've gone pretty easy on compression and limiting of the master to keep the dynamics up so you might have to push that volume knob up :)

Crystal is a great synth in many ways but strangely lacked some options for both modulation and automation. Frequency for the FM/Ring mod being the most obvious one for me. Would have also like to be able to adjust envelopes from automation. Noticed that the LFO also didn't recall the correct speeds on load but luckily the envelopes make for great LFO:s with their loop function!

Well, anyway, enjoy! :phones:

Hello,

why is the challenge 104 the latest challenge to have a directly playable sound archive on sites.google.com?

after challenge 104, we can not listen to competitors' proposals:
https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/osc-105-thorn

it was much more convenient to see the scores, ranking and listen to the proposals directly on the google site

Post

Click on "Submissions and Chat" to find the later challenge tracks. Maybe Brian hasn't added them to the archive yet?
