In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the release of The Clash's landmark third album, "London Calling" (December 14, 1979 in the U.S.), Legacy Recordings will issue a deluxe LEGACY EDITION version. "London Calling: Legacy Edition" will feature 2 full CDs of music plus a newly-created DVD component. The package will arrive in stores on September 21st.

Are the record companies really that short of new decent material? If so, why don't they sign more new artists like some of the people here?

i listen to a business news radio station on the way to work every day because every day they play 'London Calling' when they connect to London to get the ftse update (about 30 seconds worth of bumper, but it's enough for a good start to the day

Now, speaking of labels...

Why the hell is it that the Beatles CDs have not been remastered at 24-bit resolution?

Even more, why the hell have they not released the early Beatle stuff in stereo? I know for a fact it exists: I have gorgeous stereo masters on vinyl!

This one surpasseth all understanding. Look at how well the re-mastered Elvis stuff sold.

I can only assume that it has waitied until Apple assumed control of the catalog again.

Someone can correct me if i am wrong, but I believe he owns the publishing rights. I don't think he has anything to do with Apple.

I saw the Clash on that tour,summer of '79,with Bo Diddley opening.One of the best shows I ever saw.This re-release is good news and opens up the floodgates of memory for me.
