Are the record companies really that short of new decent material? If so, why don't they sign more new artists like some of the people here? :x

i listen to a business news radio station on the way to work every day because every day they play 'London Calling' when they connect to London to get the ftse update (about 30 seconds worth of bumper, but it's enough for a good start to the day

'and you know what they said, and some of it was true'

some nice bass work in that tune

"London Calling" is easily one of the 15 greatest rock records ever made...

Now, speaking of labels...

Why the hell is it that the Beatles CDs have not been remastered at 24-bit resolution?

Even more, why the hell have they not released the early Beatle stuff in stereo? I know for a fact it exists: I have gorgeous stereo masters on vinyl!

This one surpasseth all understanding. Look at how well the re-mastered Elvis stuff sold.

I can only assume that it has waitied until Apple assumed control of the catalog again.

We'll see....

Hasn't Michael Jackson got something to do with that? (Can't remember now if he has the publishing rights or the recording rights or both).

Mr A

PS. Deffo buying London Calling tomorrow - love those Legacy editions (Marvin Gaye, Jeff Buckley etc. - great stuff).

Someone can correct me if i am wrong, but I believe he owns the publishing rights. I don't think he has anything to do with Apple.
