It will be a spectacular 2018 year end for software releases.

DAW Releases
Cubase 10
Reaper 6
Mulab 8
Mixcraft 9
Samplitude Pro X4

Plugins Releases
Komplete 12 with Kontakt 6? Absynth 6? Massive 2 or X?s
Synthmaster 3
Audulus 4
Melodyne with ARA2. Wonder what new features will be added and for how much $$$.
I know I am missing some more 2018 plugins here.

ARA2.
Reaper and Studio One will get it by year end. For sure!
Likely Logic, Samplitude, Mixcraft and Protools.
Possibly: Cubase, Mulab, Cakewalk, Waveform
Unlikely in 2018: FLS Studio, Digital Performer, Live, Bitwig, Hollyhock

MPE
Some additional software will become MPE capable!
Which ones?

I love discount sales and looks like they will continue. Black Friday is only 3 months away! I am going for broke this year! I will start treatment for my GAS, not this year but next, for sure this time.

Expect some surprises. I know of one but I am not talking!
WaveDNA has announced something new to be released this year?

Valhalla's new delay is really all I am aware of that I'm keen on right now.

Komplete is really going to have to raise the bar a lot if I'm going to upgrade again. A new Absynth might get my attention, or I might just decide to upgrade Absynth only, or even skip it. We'll see.

Overall, I am looking forward to a fresh period of not spending a lot of money on music gear for a while. I've built up my modular rig over the last two years, and a pedalboard in the last few months, and both of them are nearing the end of their growth spurts and settling into something a bit more stable.

I have high expectations for Black Friday. High expectations to spend more money than i wanted again. :P

It seems that Hive will soon get wavetables. This is definitely going to be interesting. Also I hope Dune3 will come this year.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Im not sure I consider ARA2 in PT 'likely', unless Avid decided to abandon their considerable Not Invented Here aversion. Any evidence for that one?
An idiot on Set Theory:

i expect it to be cold, meaning less money for stuff and certainly less time in the studio as it gets a bit parky in there.

software wise until reaktor 7 i won't be looking at any upgrades just yet, unless absynth gets a major overhaul.

zebra 3, although im holding out more for cvlization. i need a pic of a ufo for my modular.
:ud:

There is one thing that catches my eye, MPE support for more instruments. If that happens, that is. I don't chase updates and I don't even suffer from gear acquisition syndrome. I have an embarrassment of riches to work with here. Albeit Cubase 10 will fix some bugs that won't get fixed during the life of 9. ;)

Oh yeah -- Madrona Labs Sumu seems extremely promising. Still in development, and there's no particular release estimate associated with it, but one can hope for sooner rather than later.

I do not count the $1, $5, $9 and $10 sales. But yes there are times when I spend some serious money on a sale. Such is life at KVR!

- Machine MK3 integration with Live. This has been advertised before launch, but is not ready yet -.-
- Komplete 12

Yes, I will take all or nothing.

Also looking forward to Orb Composer development... and sales :hihi:

IIRC had seen a discussion that PT would get ARA2.
I have no evidence to show.
