Well I downloaded a copy and followed the instructions for downloading the sounds and registration.

Now I opened up the AU plug-in within DigitalPerformer 4 with my "real" keyboard/control connected and running.

A huge glaring red coloured virtual synth splashes on my computer screen.

Now what?

I've read every manual that came with the download and did the www video.

Nothing to help get this virtual synth up and running!

How do get this thing to "play" those sounds.

If this free giveawy version was issued to sell the full version they are losing a customer.

You must load a sound from the Index list on the upper left into one of the sixteen channels on the upper right.
All you need to do is scroll through the list & double click on the sound you want & it loads on the currently selected channel on the right.

Help any?

Thank you for your reply/interest to help me.

At last I'm getting somewhere except that my "index list" is empty.

I downloaded those free sound files and following the instructions in the download I placed them in a specially named folder within the STF2 folder.

It seems to me now in reading your help that I have to click on something in that virtual synth to get those sound fonts into that index list.

It's sure not obvious how that is done.

Help again please.

If you placed the files in there while the plug was loaded, you need to re-start your Host application & load the instrument again.

You should then see the list.

midiw,

First try the button "RELIST".

Otherwise press "PREFS", a PREFERENCES dialog box will appear. Ensure that ROOT points to the folder where your sound files are located. (.stw .sti .sth)

That did it my friend.

Now it's making music.

Thank you for your time and patience with my question.
