I wanna get a lot of listens and likes but I don't know where to start. What's the best way to grow organically on SoundCloud? I've been producing electronic music for a few years & I dunno what I should do in order to change and grow as an artist. :?

Learn about promotion. Having a good track has little to do with it becoming popular. Having a good track is like a ticket to participate, because all the promotion in the world won't help the worst tracks, but mediocre tracks can succeed with promotion. Multitudes of great tracks never get played on the radio, or on streaming services, etc, because many great artists don't know &^%$ about how to promote themselves and their music.

The worst offenders are the "steal vsti" crowd, because promotion takes investment, and software pirates aren't just cheap with plugins, their cheap everywhere, and will rant on about how they are being ripped off when they have to shell out money to promote their music. As the saying says about misers ... they know the price of everything, and the value of nothing. The most well known artists are usually shameless self-promoters, or their agents and labels are.

Also ... sound cloud has a minuscule following compared to other streaming services, so learn about market share too. KVR loves soundcloud because of its collaborative features, being able to comment on certain spots in a song, etc, during competitions, but the average listener out in the world is NOT listening on soundcloud, they don't give a rat's ass about soundcloud. Ask girls you know if they are on soundcloud and they'll be like .. wtf is soundcloud.

Are you active on other social media like FaceBook, Twitter & Instagram? YouTube maybe also?
You should use those to inform your followers and let them promote your tracks as well.

But it's a tough battle. There are millions of wannabe-artists fighting to get noticed.

Promotion, promotion & ... PROMOTION !!!
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image

Make music which is really creative and original and makes people stand up and take notice and share it with all their friends.

The reality is that music is a business, and having a great track is not all that is involved in that business.

There are simply steps that you have to take in order for certain things to happen with a track, and if you don't know what those steps are, or you can't figure it out, it just isn't going to happen.

Your track could be the greatest thing ever, but if you don't actually work to get on Itunes, your tune is never going to be on Itunes. Period. It's not like Itunes just browses around the Internet looking for new music to put on their service, they don't.

If you want your song on the radio, you have to make that happen, they aren't going to come to you looking for it no matter how good your track is.

Potential fans are not going to go on a treasure hunt in bum&^%$ nowhere to find you in your mom's basement to see if you're making any good music they can listen to, you have to go find them and do whatever it take to get your music in front of them.

It just is what it is.
